Trevor is getting ready to move the forums to a more secure and stable host. However, this move will affect every NECO member as a subscription plan is also being implemented. Nobody has to pay. But if you don't your "membership" will be very basic. Meaning you'll only be able to read the forums and post and that's it. You won't have an avatar or sig banner or upload box or anything like that with the "basic membership".

EDIT: Trevor has released some new info on the pay services. It looks much better this time and those that don't pay aren't reduced to bare bones members with barely any perks.

Geeze. I don't know whether to be excited or not. I kinda don't feel like paying for the forums but whatever. But thanks Pyro for the fill-in. Wonder where our mods our to inform us of this??

Delphi's forums work in a similar way. I can use them, but since I don't have a paying membership, I can't inline photos, have a sig, or stuff like that.

And I hate them for it.

But to be fair, I use the Delphi forums FAR LESS than this one. And there are plenty of paying Delphi members, as indicated by the volume of sig banners and inline photos. So it's not optimal, but as long as one can post and read for free, I guess it's fair enough.

Broke college student.. this is possibly going to turn me away from the forums more and more.. We'll see, w/ gas prices right now it's hard to make rent.

All of the details such as prices per membership level, features per level, etc. are not finalized and some of the discussion got a little out of hand, but Trevor is being pretty open about what's going on.

As State mods, we are not privy to the "behind the scenes" discussions that major section mods or admins have access to.

No problem. I wish we had access to the inside scoop :( Apparently in the past some mods couldn't keep their mouth shut about some things, and so only the big section non-state mods get that access now.

I probably should have at least linked to the Announcements, since it's probably not the most popular category.
