Any ATV riders here?

Hey All,

Im like this |<->| close to buying a quad and was wondering if any other locals ride (atvs or dirtbikes). IIRC George does, but havent heard anybody else ever mention it.

A friend of mine moved out to west bumble[censored] and now has alot of open area to ride without being snagged up by the po-po (hopefully, knocks on wood) so I was thinking about finally picking up a quad now that we have a good place to ride. Im kinda the last hold out of my friends on buying a quad.. Im also the only one with a family so that has been my major holdup. But all aside, i think im gonna bite the bullet and try to get a good deal on an 05 leftover.

So... anybody else into this kinda stuff?

Not I said the fly...

Personally I'd take that money and put it into a savings account, and in a couple of years buy a nice car with it...OR...save it for long term.

I don't care for ATV's...adding an additional level of risk into your life, without any usefulness.

I see a motorcycle (preferable a cruiser) as partly functional (and definitely dangerous), however it can get you from point A to point B with some excitement in between. An ATV/Quad, just adds risk, but gets you nowhere...

Just my opinion...

If you do get, I'll have to come by and take a look at it... but it's all up to you.

Yea, waste of cash for sure... Could injure or kill.. surely... but oh so much fun!!!! How many things in this world do not fit into one or both of those catagories? Very few if any. Cars, Boats, Planes, Video Games, Soccer, Hockey, BBall, running, hiking, driving, sleeping.. name it.. you can die or injure yourself sneezing...

Its about crap that makes you happy.. I think this will make me happy. Lack of big money and possibility of destroying my daily driver will keep me from doing any more big mods to my car.. Its plenty fast for me as it is right now. So this will be a good toy to tinker with. Its a DOHC liquid cooled 397CC 4 stroke engine. 5 speed tranny w/ reverse, top speed of around 70mph.. many many bolt ons that hardly go over like 300 bucks for the most expensive bolt ons (exhaust/header). Something I can do with friends and family... All n all, hopefully this will work out for me.

You'll have to come check it out.. you'll catch the bug.. there is a KFX 700 calling your name! haha

I waste enough money modding my car. Purchasing a vehicle that gets me nowhere, will require a truck or trailer to move around, and takes the spot in the garage for the STi...well that makes no sense to me.

My whole point was actually...if you took the money and saved it now...in 5 yrs when it's time to move, buy a new car, etc...you'll have plenty more money. I just can't see the fun in that.

I waste my money on modding my car as I said...and I;ll regret it one day. I don't need to add new regrets to my life as it is.

That being said, I will one day probably buy a motorcycle...but that's when I can afford to drop $25K on one...

I will still come by and see it...

Oh and about hockey being dangerous...you're 100% right, when you're playing against me :)

i used to ride until they built the pine hill golf course on the woods I used to ride on. I could always go to atco but no longer have a bike to ride.

I did it. I bought one. This is the first stupid thing I have bought in a long time. Well, not stupid, but uneccessary for sure. I got a good deal on it atleast. Wasnt able to ride it this weekend, but next weekend I pop my sport atv riding cherry! It was a trip though.. the guy delivered it.. went over a few things then left. So that left me to try n get this thing in the garage. I was gonna push it, but decided to try n get'er goin.. Took me awhile to get it moving.. stalled a bunch of times.. but after about 20 minutes.. i moved it the 10 feet into my garage... Well actually, I drove it around my front yard first.. then into the garage!! haha
