1st kill in the tib comes on day 2

so I got my tib yesterday, so tonight I didn't have much to do so I went and cruised around where a lot of "tuners" ride around. I figured I would just cruise, and if I had the oppourtunity to run someone I would. So i am in a two lane turning lane and this 6cyl honda accord pulls up next to me. seems to be primered, lowered, with the steelies for wheels. it was a wide turn so I took it normal, as we get straight I hear him chirp his tires, I gun it in second gear, and proceed to walk him. I slow down since the light we are comin up to is red, it turns green before we get there, he guns it again, and I proceed to cruise past him easily. so we go a couple more times, I pulled into a parkin lot and we talked for a second. his first question was "dude, what all you got done to that thing?" lol he seemed rather shocked when I told him it was bone stock. haha. I love drivin this car, definately a step up from the cougar, esp since I had the4 cyl, I prolly wouldn't have been able to take him down in the coug, but in this one, it was no problem.:biggrin:

I had a similar run a few months ago, pre-accident. I was out at some races and this guy comes by the group and says "OK, who's got the f***ing Cougar over there?" I said it was mine, and he goes "Dude, I saw you racing a couple weeks ago, you think your car is fast or somethin?" I said its good enough for me, so he calls me out and says "I can take you right here and now, $20." I said "What car is yours?" He points over to this 81 Caddy something coupe like he's a baller or something. I said I don't race for money, but if he feels so confident he's more than welcome to bring his car up and race.

We line up and he's over there revving his engine all hardcore (definitaly a V8, probably a 305). Hands drop and I walk him 2 cars immediatly, and keep pulling. Ultimatly by over 3 cars I won. We rolled back up to where everyone was hanging out and he goes "Dude, what the f*** you got done to that thing?" I told him it was bone stock, nothing at all. He goes "Bull-f***ing-sh*t a$$hole! That thing ain't stock!" I asked him "Would you like me to pop the hood?" He declined and promptly left with everyone giving him sh*t for acting all hardcore then getting spanked by a Mercury.

6cyl Accords have 160hp i think? Like, 1998 and up I believe? They weight more than the tibby & cougar as well I'd imagine. So why wouldn't you win? Nice kill nonethelesss, probably made you feel proud considering you jsut got the car.

PS. You keep saying the Tibby is faster than the Coug...though you had a 4 banger. They're pretty close yes, but I'd put my money on the Cougar stock vs stock. Maybe not the new '06 model cuz I think they're a bit quicker stock...but definitely everything prior.

stock for stock with the v6 coug and tib, its a driver's race. the 4cyl cougars stock are slow. i knew I was gonna beat the accord, I'm not feelin like im a badass bc of it, I just figured I would share since I was out just havin some fun enjoyin my new car.

Could you tell what Gen Accord it was? Unless it was the most recent one (03+) it had an Auto tranny. Honda refused to put a 5-speed on the V6 until then. I know the 03+ V6's are 240hp, and are actually quite torquey. The 98-02's are around 200-ish, IIRC.

the v6 on that one has 200hp and 195 ft/lbs of tq.

That would be the 4 cylinder engine, a K24 2.4L. The V6 is a 3.0L DOHC VTEC, the new one makes 240 hp, and about that much torque. Basically a destroked version of the 3.5 in the Pilot, Odyssey, and Ridgeline.

never got a chance to race the cougar yet just get those losers that fly past me in when in the single lanes. pretty sad. the only time i had to race too was when an integra blew past me but couldn't do anything cause a huge puddle was up ahead.
