I talked to my principal today about buying his nitrous set up. He has a NX express system (I think dry shot) with bottle opener, warmer, gauge, purge kit, new 15lb bottle, and I think he said that he had a progressive controller or something where it would gradually allow for a bigger shot as the RPM's went up. Any ways he was talking to me about it for a short time today and I asked him for a Price. He asked in return if it would be ok with my parents, lol and then told me to research to see how much it would be worth and then the 2 of us could come up with a price. My question is what do you all think is a good price for this set up.

Um...I don't think a dry shot will work with a returnless car.
Anyone?

it will with larger injectors and tuning such as SCT but not reccomended u want nitrous get a wet shot, and i know someone selling a ZEX kit for 400 bucks which is a wet kit and has all the accories for it

I thought it was because of the way the returnless system worked...that a dry kit wouldn't work. At least, that's what ZEX told me.

well i will have to ask him about that

lol yes it will work with tuning but i wouldnt reccomend it unless u feel like putting ur engine in the dyno guys hands cuz dry shot and no tuning = BFB

What You Must Understand About A Returnless System Is There Is No Way To Raise Fuel Pressure As Boost Or N20 Is Activated. As Denser Air (n20) Or Compressed Air (forced Induction) Enters The Engine, A Proportional Amount Of Additional Fuel Must Be Added. Normally, A Bleed Vacuum Line From The N20 Valve Goes To The Stock Fuel Regulator Which Raises Fuel Pressure To About Double The Stock 3 Bar. But In A Returnless System There Is No External Regulator--it Is Within The Fuel Tank. There Is A Way To Make It Work With An Fmu And An Inline Fuel Pump (i Patented That And Gave The Design Right To Powerdyne & Vortech), But A Wet Fuel System For N20 Is Best, And An Additional Injector Setup For Forced Induction Is Best In My Experience. The Extra Fuel Offers Induction Charge Cooling And Is Simple To Adjust. No Engine Codes Are Set, Etc.

One More Thing. I Just Took Posession Of An '00 Cougar To Build A Supercharger Kit. I Mocked Up A Simple Centrifugal Version With The Sc Moujnted Next To The Passenger Side Mount. Another Thought Is An Eaton Top Mounted And A 2" High Scoop Or Custom Hood. Being That Many Cars Are Auto Trans, The Instant Boost Would Be Great. What Do You Guys Think? I Do This All Day--design Supercharger Kits.

Actually on an returnless setup you use a dry kit. There is no FPR to tap into and spike the fuel pressure.
A dry kit uses the injectors to supply the extra needed fuel. The limitation of this is the injector's size itself.
Raising fuel is simple to do with a MAF hack device (like in most kits) or much better yet a proper chip tune. The worst thing you could do is hack tune with an FMU and spike fuel pressure to over saturate the injectors. The spray pattern and consistency of the injectors are both grossly compromised doing this. While this stop gap measure is a must for cars that do not allow for tuning this is not an issue with us. It is very easy to tune your car properly and just use the proper size injectors and tune for them.

It is not really possible.
When you looked at the Cougar you must have seen the main engine mount the is bolted to the center of the engine. (i.e. main valley)
Also explain how you mounted (mocked up) a S/C by the passenger mount? (i.e. main engine mount)
Where exactly did it fit? Seriously.

What nobody has point out though is that you need a flip chip, otherwise, the car will run rich all the time that you are not running the nitrous kit. I know that multi code chips are common now, but not everyone is aware of their use and often think a chip means only one tune. BTW, the stock 17# injectors are adequate to supply fuel for a 75 shot (I know from personal experience).
As for you Mr. Knight, I would love to see your work. Care to post any pictures or sketches? DemonSVT is right however, a custom passenger mount along with very complicated belt routing is required due to not only the mount being there, but the power steering pump & pulley as well. What would work is an offset pulley configuration if you can find the room ... not going to find it anywhere near the valve covers though. You have 5 basic options:
1) Uber complicated custom mount & hood scoop/custom hood
2) Place a powerdyne type unit where the A/C Compressor is
3) Do like Shagmonkey and move the engine coolant reservoir and place the charger on the fender area and retain the A/C
4) find a way to run one off the cam driven water pump area
5) Go the Vortech route and run a long jackshaft across the front of the car
Personally, I love to see something completely new and thus I take my hat off to Shagmonkey

mr knight, if you need the design of a 99 cougar atx to help design a new SC kit then give me a call because i believe you are located in miami and i live ona few hrs drive away.
