i think that the rev limiter problem went away as well, reved it a bit and no limiter, but it was cold and didnt want to do it too much.

didn't Chris have the car running when you bought it?

jaged
12-15-2005, 02:02 PM
yeah it was running, but i bbought a sable uim and its been apart since last weekend b/c of one stupid vaccum hose. should be able to get it on the road tonight to see how it runs

Awsome! What were your issues with hte vacuum hoses? Just cureous. I did "ruin" one of the hard lines (brake booster), so I could use the ends for a different setup.

Time for a CF hood now? Which reminds me, I forgot to give you all the extra paint, but I cant ship that kinda stuff through the mail. If your gonna be at any meets or anything shoot me a call, or a PM, and Ill give you that stuff. The drip rail pieces STILL havent shown up  I also have a set of stock mirrors I owe ya, I think.

Shoot me a PM on how things are going with the chip.

jaged

the vaccum lines are different on the sable than on the excape. one was going straight down off of the intake that needed to meet up with one perpendicular to it 1/2" away. A $9 90 degree bend hose fixed it.

as of right now my CAI has left indianapolis. I should have it monday, just gonna use the short ram part for now. gotta see how the auto x season goes, might need more power

Hrm, something about the SM allowances for up to 3.0L DOHC motor w/ forced induction? :)

jaged
12-21-2005, 08:09 AM
well since it spun through 3rd gear the other day, not sure ill need more power, but more traction, quaife perhaps

Mtang4life
12-21-2005, 12:49 PM
A Quaife diff. would definatly help.

jaged

was talking to mtang last night and we figured wout what the problem was. the dpfe sensor on the 99's is different so I was looking for something that wasnt there. so now i just need to get some hose and 2 oxygen sensors and ill be good

MetallicaCougs
02-18-2006, 07:59 PM
lol remind me to keep you away from my tranny at CF

jaged
02-18-2006, 10:36 PM
i cant help it the clutch is only rated at 250lbs. and if the car is putting down 197lbs at the wheels i can only imagine what its making at the flywheel

Moraki
02-18-2006, 11:50 PM
Oh some asshat was asking in garage talk i think how a non deisel engine could produce more torque than hp.

MetallicaCougs
02-19-2006, 05:51 PM
chris didn't think to upgrade the tranny?

jaged
02-19-2006, 05:59 PM
he did, itws a svt clutch but theyre only rated at 250 ft/lbs

MetallicaCougs
02-19-2006, 06:52 PM
so what are you going to put in there?

sonza68
02-19-2006, 11:53 PM

not really gonna drive it a whole lot on the street ive decided. its a race car it should haved race car parts. theres a chance im gonna go SC so why upgrade twice?

This is true! But still overkill. Hell the stage 1 can take up to 270 ft lbs. Stage 2 is good up to 340 ft lbs. How much torque do you think you'll make?

jaged
02-20-2006, 06:08 PM
well thev svt was good to 250 and look what happened to it. And is that rated at the crank or at the wheel? im making just shy of 200 ft/lbs so thats pushing it at the crank.

if i do go SC that will add what 100 ft/lbs???

im gonna pull the starter and check the pressure plate, it may be loose(crosses fingers)

MaverickFlyer
02-21-2006, 09:16 AM
That would be at the crank, a stage 2 would probably be enough but what the hell put the stage 3 in. I'm just thinking about the Mustang stage 3 that is good up to 680 ft lbs.

Good luck with getting a chip to run right. Dan's story is a nightmare or is his different because it's a turbo?

sonza68
02-21-2006, 11:37 AM
The chip problems Dan's had don't seem to be related to the turbo (some may be though). Steve has gone through pretty much the same thing.

Thats the problem sending out the chip to get burned. You really need the car there to test it out, and try different things.

MetallicaCougs

as far as i know yes its gonna happen. im getting the 2.5 done for sure, just want some numbers. maybe even with/with out chip to compare.

there is a station by me that sells 110 race fuel. Its $4.85 right now i think. The SC is only $3700:eek: i gotta pay off a good chunk of the car b4 i do that

Moraki
02-21-2006, 06:14 PM
Bah why SC a 2.5 just make it a matching pair of 3L.

jaged
02-21-2006, 07:06 PM
not gonna SC the 2.5. its staying a 2.5 atx for my driver. the SC would go on the 3L

You can always ease off on the gas pedal, but you can't push it any further! If you have traction problems, fix those not your output. Trust me you can never have enough power and it's not just an ego thing.

Some Contour guy bought them, but wrecked his car before he installed them. A local autocrosser picked them up for his SVT, but never got around to installing them. Andy sold the SVT for an STi and still had these uninstalled headers and asked me if I'd be interested. He said he just wanted to get back what he paid for them, so I picked them up for $600.
