Finally finished cutting the pipes and securing the intercooler. what do i have left to do? Fabricate a downpipe and connect it to my trubendz cat-back, add some oil, finish up the electrical connections, add some coolant and cross my fingers as i turn the key

Enjoy! Overall size is 27"x6.5"x3.5".....good for 500 whp:)

wow looks cool! Not much room left for intake or downpipe ( is that right? the turbo exhaust). How are you planning for the final touches?

Honestly really very nice work. it would probably kill me to have 500hp and then remember its all at the front wheels though.

are you not worried about your couplers coming loose since you only have regular hose clamps? i would have assumed you would have gone with a t-bolt style clamp instead.

looking good though.

Ahh I think he is OK, were not talking 40 psi of boost here

Instigator - Very nice looking set up, where did you get that "T" connector for the BOV? Looks like it all belongs there. I'm sure you have solid motor mounts as well?

Clean install!

What's your plan as far as the MAF goes? You aren't going to have much room for a draw through type, if any at all. Blow through isn't as good of an option, but it can be done....

the air filter and maf will be just infront of the strut tower housing. i am still working on that part as the pipe to the compressor inlet is a tight fit.

OBX (IIRC) makes a silcone 90* that has a very short radius and may help out a bit. I ended up using one on my system. I'm not sure how big of a MAF you can fit there, or a filter for that matter.... but it will be very tight like every other aspect of fabricating/installing a turbo system on these cars are

Again, clean install

do you have a pic on how tight it is, the 90 pipe im working on now is reallt tight fit and rubs against the top of the tranny mount

Yes dait is sexy. After all these pics...I swear i need to start doing a turbo system of my own.

Huge turbo you have there. Hot hot hot hot hot.

I can forsee a Drift Front bumper in order to open up the airflow to that FMIC.

EDIT: HTTP://WWW.TURBOHOSES.COM, NUKKAS!!
SUPER SILLY FRESH EDIT: I'd still get T-bolt clamps. ESPECIALLY for the 90° compressor outlet hose. otherwise yr probly going to have lots of fun finding boost leaks and getting pissed off that the band clamps are stripping

First, I had an aluminum 90* with silicone connections and it was too large of a radius to not rub the top trans mount like you're running into. I got the correct size silicone 90* like this one, and I cut down the side that mounts to the inlet of the turbo to the width of the clamp. It clears with ease.

They can be had on ebay for like $20. search for silicone 90 and it will pull up lots of options.

i did, but no one sells that tight of a bend for less than $50 :( and i need a 4" coupler cuz my gt53R has a 4" inlet

Now, you could even fit a 90mm Lightning MAF in the silicone 90* (4" goodness) if it clears the mount).
Though, you aren't going to have much room for an air filter. One option that will allow plenty of flow is to fabricate a sheetmetal housing/tub with a 4" inlet that allows a K&N drop-in type filter for a Lightning to be used. With the space you have, you don't have many options. Here is a quick MS Paint jobby to give you an idea of what I'm talking about. Basicly, you have the housing, the filter and a trim frame/ring. The inlet can be offset to fit in the bay correctly, and even angled. Also, you could cut a hole in the inner fender to have ducting plumb in air right to it.

i plan to have a coupler or 90 pipe come off the comp toward the fender and my 90 mm SCT MAF and air filter sit just in front of the strut twoer and behind my intake charge pipe coming off the turbo....

thanks for the link and suggestion swazo

just chiming in again to mention the significance of a tight seal on all couplers... even a small boost leak can cause sputtering and hesitation. I would really spend the extra near $200 and get some decent t-bolt clamps. The company following the link I left in my previous reply sells very nice ones and gives quantity discounts even on mismatched sizes.

Goodluck with the downpipe Mark. It will be a difficult job due to the way it has to bend around the oil pan and such but im sure your fabricator will be able to handle it.

I found some really tight radius piping and i am barely, just barely gonna fit 3" of downpipe in there......im gonna wrap the hell out of it so it doesnt burn anything. Pics will come. i plan to have it done this week

Yeah when we were working on dans car last week, I noticed his downpipe has been scrapping. I think either way though your going to have problems with that.
