That's right. I finally had enough with the engine crap and got a new car. It's a 2005 Explorer Sport Trac. I'd been wanting a truck for a long time and with the Coug threatening to die on me for the 3rd time, I thought it timely to trade it in while it was still running fairly good. I'll still ghost around here from time to time to see what's happening. Hey, at least I'm still in the Ford family, though I'm not sure that's really a good thing or not, heh. ;)

Mark, im sorry you had such bad luck....I wish Norcal and I could have help you correct the issues....I guess we should just use this as an example of who NOT to go to for a 3 liter swap. (and this is so not directed to anyone who owns a cougar.)
Good luck with the new car...Oh, do you still ahve the rolling chasis?? Im looking for a cougar to drop my 3 liter from my SVT in.

I traded in the whole shebang, lock stock and barrel. But I didn't cry! I didn't. Well, maybe just a little misty, alright. It was making the same noise that it did the first 2 times. Same diagnosis from my mechanic also when he heard it. The only thing that I have is the 6 disc in dash changer that I just bought 6 mo. ago. I'm going to list it on Ebay for $150 if anybody wants dibs on it first. It's a pretty slick unit. If the station uses an identifier like most do now, it tells you the call letters, song title playing, etc.
I'll get a picture for you guys soon. I've already messed with it. Stainless steel step bars, bed extender, tint, antenna, billet grill. I know, I just can't help myself. ;) I do love it though. Takes a bit of getting used to, not skimming the ground and all.

sorry to see your car go, I remember you taking off from the pack at hot import nights a long time ago, good luck with the new ride!
