So my transmission has been doomed since I put on my SC and yesterday at a cruise it finally decided to let me know it's getting ready to go.

When the car is in gear and I let off the gas I get a loud ticking noise. It fades away when I shift into neutral but is non-existant if I'm hitting the gas in forward or reverse gears. Anytime the engine is slowing the wheels the ticking noise comes back.

Obviously I'm dropping the trans soon, but would prefer to wait till September. Anybody else ever experience this? Any idea how long I've got? The car drives great other than the ticking.

Terrorists have planted a bomb inside your transmission because superchargers represent the American way.

In all honesty, I don't know, but is it only when the car is in gear, or is it only when the clutch is out? Try different things to see when you can and can't hear it. Maybe it's something simple like the throwout bearing.

I already had a bomb sniffing dog check out the first possibility. I take my symbol of America very seriously.

The clutch doesn't seem to have any effect on it. Neither does neutral. Once I let off the gas and "engine brake" it ticks unless I accelerate again. Neutral, clutch out/in won't stop it, only an acceleration.
