My dad looked at Slade's car and looks like he's going to need a new plate. Since I have an ATX, I know nothing. How hard is it to change one of these and what does it require?

Clutch/transmission work is out of my element. I'd guess it requires removing the drivers side wheel / half-shaft and dropping the tranny out the bottom.
Your basic Ford nightmare.

replacement should be clutch, pressure platge and throw out bearing at one time. It entails removing the tranny from the car..... not a fun job either

Look up State Rd. Transmission, they do good quality work and are reasonable. (they did my old Ranger's clutch) They are right at State Rd. and I 480 in Cleveland.
