Did some more work on things this weekend. Progress is slow, but definately moving forward.

I do have some bad news, though. My computer crashed right after i got home from Florida. Had everything on it. Which really pissed me off cause i was planning on backing up the more important info on it. Anyways, remember that license plate mod i was working on? Well, i lost all the blueprints i had drawn up on it. I was so close to starting the machining process, too. I doubt i would of been done by cougarfest anyways.

Anyways, here are the pics of today's work:

Started working on the air ride guages that will be mounted underneath the upper console.

Modifying the door latch and door getting ready to install the shaved door kit.
This pic shows a plastic ear that i hacked off that used to be behind the metal tab on the left.

The next two pics shows more plastic and even some metal that i had to hack off to clear the door popper.

I had to hack off one of the bolt holes to clear the popper. I noticed the latch has four threaded holes yet only three of them was used. So i did some layout work and drilled a new hole in the door so i'll still have three bolts holding the latch onto the door. The new hole is the bottom one on the left.

Tommorrow i'll do all the same stuff to the passenger door and hopefully have the shaved door system all wired up and working.

Brian, if you haven't formated your hard drive or as long as your hard drive isn't completely dead I can get your data back. Mods are looking pretty good though.

man everythings looking great. shaved door handles rock. I used to have shaved door handles on a 55 ford me and my dad built. Just a warning though, make sure you hide an emergency release button somewhere. If not and you incidentally close the door then you are screwed. Trust me I know from personal experience. :)
