Ive been contemplating shaving my sidemarkers lately... i have yet to see a cougar with the stock fenders with no sidemarkers. Has anyone tried this before? I think the front of my car looks too busy, and dont like the look the sidemarkers give off. But im interested to see if anyone has tried yet.

why don't you just get an aftermarket fender instead? I believe that would be more cost effective for what you want since they don't come with sidemaker holes.

i do not like any aftermarket fenders for the cougar, besides id rather keep it stock and just fiberglass/bondo the hole

or you could buy my fiberglass ones for $75 + shipping and mess around with them :)

thank you.

A few questions... how did you go about it? Did you weld a sheet of metal to fill in the gap, then bondo it up to make it all smooth or did you just fiberglass/bondo the hole without welding a patch in there?

well i used a piece of sheet metal cut to fit the spot then i sanded down the area where the piece of sheet metal would be placed. then i used cold weld instead of actually welding it. then i used bondo glass/ kitty hair and then bondo.

I had my sidemarkers shaved as well. We went about it in a similar way, welding a piece of metal to it then smoothing it out. I also LOVE the way it makes the fenders look. Amanda
