After thinking about it over and over again, I finally bought one. It's a 110 volt unit, I had a friend who is a welder check it out and he said it will do everything I need it to do.

I still need to get an Argon tank and hook that up to, luckily Argon is fairly cheap.

Now I need to get Ron to come over my house and run a couple 110 lines out to my garage :)

Nice, a welder is almost a necessity when you do alot of your own modding!
What kind did you get, Lincoln, Miller, Hobart? Now all you need is a Plasma cutter! ;)

Nice Pierre! Now just don't go doing structural welds with a 110 welder and you'll be ok. ;)

There's a guy locally here that sells AirBag brackets that he welds up on a 110v welder. They fail constantly, you cannot get the penetration you need with a 110v for really thick material -- but they are great for non-structural welds.

I don't think you'll have to twist Ron's arm too much....just becareful he doesn't try and install it in our new garage!! ;)

Hahah... Seeing Ron running outta Puck's garage with the new welder in his arms would be classic... :P

The only structural thing this welder is going to do, is weld "The Chair" into the floor of my cougar...... next it's going to weld me an exhaust.... after that, it's just going to be used to fill in holes, etc....

Ya gonna put the Chair on hinges or something so you can still get access into the fuel tank?

I still haven't had a ride in that sucker yet... =(

actually the chair is going to be bolted in "technically"

but the nuts for the bolts are going to be welded in :)

Ahhhh, makes more sense to me now. So yer basically gonna fab up a removable bracket that bolts to the car. That's hot man...

There's times when I wish I had a welder at the house -- its a great tool to have.
