I'm considering installing an aftermarket heated seat kit, which would require removal of the seat cover. I have leather, not cloth, but I suppose this doesn't make much difference in the removal process.

Has anyone removed the Cougar seat upholstery before? What is the process like? What are the basic steps involved? How hard/easy to get the cover back on and looking right?

TIA for any info.

Hmmmm, I looked at doing that this last winter. From what I found, the average cost is ~$150 per seat. The installation sounded like it wasn't too bad. My understanding is that you would just make an incision near one of the stitch lines and then slide the heating pad underneath the leather/cloth. You'd then snake the power wire through the seat and out to a 12-volt switch and power source.

In the end I decided against the idea because it just seemed to keep screaming "fire hazard."
