i no with the vct if u change out both cams ur check engine light will always be on but ive read posts about only changin the intake cam...how does that work if ur only changing 1 cam and are u changing both or 1 cam gear or neither and is it worth the money to do only that......

ur kinda confusing. try wording your qyestions a little better. but I'll try to answer. yes, if you have vct and you change your cam or cam gear on the exhuast side then you will get the CEL. but you can just change the intake cam and cam gear and be ok. and besides, typically if you are going to stay N/A changing the exhuast cam and gear won't really help but a couple horses anyways.

ok sorry for being confusing let me try sayin it this way the only way to change the cams without gettin the CAL to come on is the only change the intake side i understand that if i change the exhaust cam gear out would that be worth it or would that throw the light to and just doin the intake side is the horse power and torque gain worth the money itll cost for the cam and cam gear and getting it tuned is that better and thank you anyone that answer me and tries to make sense of what im asking

punctuation is your friend. I am going to try and decipher again what you said. If you are willing to spend the money on the intake cam and gear, then get it, it is beneficial, especially down the road when you gain more mods. The intake cam will not make you throw a CEL. the exhuast cam will. I think I heard someone say there is a way to get rid of the CEL but it involves completely reformatting your ECU or something like that. You will see a few hp and tq from the exhuast cam, but you will get more power over the curve and at a higher rpm. that is more or less the point of the cam, to help spread your power out over the band. now if this didn't answer your questions try using punctuation in your next post.

LMAO! A speak and spell wouldn't hurt. JK:biggrin: Sorry man, couldn't help myself. Invest in some springs and retainers as well.

i am pretty sure there is a fix for the exhaust gear...a spacer or something...Ness would be the best to PM he has done quite a bit under the hood in terms of cams and gears and what not.

There is an adapter to fit a gear on the exhaust side. But you will still have a cel with the vct removed. Youd either need a custom cip or learn to live with it.
