A/c crapped out

Like the title says, no a/c. It started making terrible noise about a week ago.(I didn't have the option to not drive it or fix it at that time.) Now as I'm leavin work at 1am, at start-up she snaps the drive belt. while i waited for my wife to pick me up, I checked to see if which pulley wouldn't turn.(I had a pretty good idea which one.) the part of the comp that the belt turns is locked up, or at least i can't turn it by hand. I was hopping to wait another week to fix the ac as i have to make the coug payment this week. however it doesn't look that way. Sorry, this isn't really a question, but feel free to respond NE way!! IM going to sleep now b/c its 2:23am!!

Looks like you will be replacing your compressor....depending on how long it has been, you might be replacing the clutch/field/pully as well. When you price out a new compressor, have them price you a complete reman with the clutch assy alreay attached. Not only does it make R&I a tad easier, but they tend to be cheaper. Why, I don't know.

Also depending on how long your compressor has been locking up, you should probably replace your orfice tube as well.
