Nope, if i can find a suitable tire with similar tread as the ones on my 18" wheels i've got an idea for a spare tire to be mounted in the trunk.
I've been thinking about this stuff for months...

And would you believe i didn't feel one ounce of remorse when this was going on. In fact, i'm quite excited to finally get this project rolling.
While i'm at it...my first fiberglass project. Can anybody figure out what i'm making?
Kinda hard to tell their shape. I'll have to take a few pics after i trim them up a bit.

i would guess those are exhaust tips but have no idea why you would be fiberglassing that

Are you FINALLY moving the Info display and other things like you wanted, those fiberglass pieces would make for nice filler pieces to relocate the interior stuffs like you wanted.

Oh, and the Airtanks/Compressor(?) would look nice under the replacement piece where the spare tire pit was, am I still in the loop?
Cant you just tell us why you cut the hole in the trunk? I seriously cant stand the Secret Modders of NECO Club. If someone is going to copy you now, they can just as easily copy you when its done. I think this is the only forum ive ever been on where people are so secret about what they are doing.

Ha! My spare tire well is the same way, I had to do that to make my center exhaust clear the evaporator.
What you have planned with the extra room down there?

Calm down man. I wasn't going to keep it secret forever. I just wanted to see how many people give me the "WTF" post. And i really could care less if people copy me. I'm not out to be original. I'm doing this for functionality.
Besides, anybody could of figured out why i cut the spare wheel well out if they read hotbugs post close enough.
Everybody knows i need to do some suspension work. I don't want springs set at a certain height and have to worry about every little thing on the road all the time. And i'm too lazy to have to jack up the car to set the car height and hope i don't have to adjust one corner or the other to make things level. So i decided to go the same road as caterina and megail and a few others and go with air suspension. I have all the major parts needed except air lines, controller (damn backorders), and the tank. I think all the air tanks look like [censored] and i don't like them. So i figure why not put an air tank where the spare wheel well is. So i'm going to have a custom tank built using the dimensions of the spare wheel well. And don't worry, i've got an idea for a spare wheel. So i won't be loosing that.
The figerglass project i have going is for a sidemarker relocation mod. The cc.com X-1 fenders delete the sidemarker holes. Before i built aluminum brackets that held the sidemarker lens just behind the vents in the fenders and wired them into the turnsignals in the headlights. They weren't very bright and barely showed up at night. And you can forget about seing them during the day. So i got a couple junked headlights and stole the wiring harnesses and the turn signal bulb sockets from a couple junked cars and cut out the mounting holes for the bulb sockets. Using the mounting holes i made a couple pods that will eventually mount behind the vents. I'm going to then wire the spare turnsignal harnesses into the headlight turnsignals and then put LED bulbs in them. That'll make them much brighter and i'll be much happier.
The HVAC's were a spare set from a wrecked cougar for me to practice on. I'm finding out very quickly i don't have as much patience as i thought i did for certain things...

It's the charcoal canister that holds the gas tank fumes until they get pumped into the catalytic converter.

You know they have 3 gallon air tanks for the spare tire well dont you? How big of tank you goin with and what bags
Pyro81
06-12-2005, 12:50 AM
3 gallon? That's not a whole lot... I don't know how much it'll hold but i think a tank built to the dimensions of the spare tire well should hold about 8 - 10 gallons. Whatever it turns out to be it should be plenty.
As far as bags, the fronts i bought from you a while back, the rears i got off of kmwperformance.com. Bastards raised the price on me before i purchased...

06-12-2005, 01:07 AM
Ya thats what i was wondering if you kept those or went with another brand. Good choice. 2 years and not one bag problem. kmw is the way to go.
