EDIT: Finished swapping LEDs in all the switches, see pics below.

----------------------------------------------------
I had two weeks of vacation at work that i needed to blow before july so i'm taking all of it starting tonight. I figure i'll spend the first week working on getting the cougar finished then i'm taking off to florida on the 15th and coming back on the 21st.
Today i spent the day mostly on performing the LED swap in all the switches and what not. Only thing i have left is the headlight switch. I honestly wish i payed attention more to Jamie and George when they were doing it at Aaron's. So now i'm asking for advice. If i follow scrupul0us' how-to i'll have like 6-8 LEDs in it, which seems like overkill and ridicules. Plus i don't remember you two spending that much time on the switches. I know you guys put an LED in the light socket off to the side, but i think that only lights up the three symbols next to the switch. How the heck do you light up the switch itself?

And while i'm at it, does anybody know where i can get styrofoam bricks? I need them for packing material. Somebody might be buying my subs and box. It weighs about 70pds total and i'm going to have to modify a couple boxes to be able to ship it. And i want to get some styrofoam bricks to put around it inside the box to help prevent damage.

Styrofoam bricks...no. Packing material, steal from work (not smart to do) or go to UPS, USPS, office max, staples. we sometimes use empty cardboard boxes at work for larger items, holds the object in place, but will give if needed.

Tell Mom and Jeff I said hi, and I miss them. Watch out for hurricanes, tis the season you know. and if you need a hand this weekend, let me know.

Nevermind, i figured out a way to get the switch to light up, i'll show how i did it if anybody is interested.
Here's some pics of the finished switches. In the pic with the headlight switch, the switch part itself doesn't seem to light up too well, but in person it lights up fairly decent.

Wiring the hvac controls is going to be cake. However stripping the green off isn't so easy... I started with a test set and i've already rubbed too much off on one of the symbols. I'll have to find a better way of doing it.

looks great Brian. very nice work. Sorry I never replied on the question you asked in the first post. I was out of town. As for the HVAC's, as far as I can figure it out, it is almost impossible to take off the green without taking off a little bit of some of the symbols as well. Basically it is just a crap load of patience. I ended up taking most of the qtips end off, giving me just the stick part of the qtip to work with. It seems easier to have a hard edge to work with that way you can control more ow what you are trying to "clear" out. Then when done just use a fine tip sharpie to help clean up some of the design's that might have rough edges or too much taken out of them.
