I was able to get a LOT more track time tonight. Got 8 runs in, to be exact.

Run 1 (Shakedown run. Didn't go 100%, just kinda felt everything out on this one)

R/T: .249
60': 2.480
330': 6.913
1/8: 10.571 @ 67.524 mph
1000': N/A
1/4 Mile: 16.416 @ 83.847 mph.

Run 2

R/T: .501
60': 2.338
330': 6.614
1/8: 10.179 @ 69.327 mph
1000': 13.169
1/4 Mile: 15.873 @ 86.280 mph

Run 3 (more on this run below)

R/T: .689
60': 2.379
330': 6.709
1/8: 10.380 @ 67.270 mph
1000': 13.468
1/4 Mile: 16.277 @ 82.945 mph

Run 4

R/T: .137
60': 2.606
330': 7.440
1/8: 11.273 @ 65.269 mph
1000': N/A
1/4 Mile: 17.245 @ 82.599 mph

NOTE: This run, I messed up just about everything you can mess up in 1 run. Launched too low (when I grabbed traction, I was at about 2k rpm's), missed 2nd gear (crowd loved that one. oops...). Basically this was my "throwaway" run, the one you want to forget about.

Run 5

R/T: .063
60': 2.430
330': 6.728
1/8: 10.374 @ 67.571 mph
1000': N/A
1/4 Mile: 16.227 @ 83.749 mph

Run 6

R/T: .216
60': 2.483
330': 6.882
1/8: 10.522 @ 67.739 mph
1000': N/A
1/4 Mile: 16.364 @ 83.959 mph

Run 7

R/T: .183
60': 2.384
330': 6.715
1/8: 10.339 @ 68.084 mph
1000': 13.387
1/4 Mile: 16.137 @ 84.786 mph

Run 8

R/T: .153
60': 2.369
330': 6.607
1/8: 10.166 @ 69.229 mph
1000': N/A
1/4 Mile: 15.871 @ 85.925 mph.

OK, now for the story behind what was happening.

During Run 3, as I accelerated, I felt the car stop accelerating as quickly as it was. Wasn't sure what to make of it. I thought I just goofed up a shift or something, so I tried again. That is the run I screwed up, so I ran again. I was still mystified as to what was happening. I was thinking I wasn't letting it cool down enough between runs, and my filter was soaking too much heat. I would pull good on the bottom end, but fall flat up top.

I finally took my intake off and looked at the secondaries. Sure enough, that metal bar that actually OPENS the secondaries was unhooked on one end. I wasn't able to fix it properly, as the C clip that holds it on was gone. It was 5 minutes before the lanes closed, so I went ahead and decided to give it one last go, just to end the night. That time, I ran the fastest lap I'd run all night, but at a lower MPH. I don't think the IMRC's were opening either. So I ran a 15.871 with no secondaries. When I get up in the morning, I'll get a new C-clip and get that bar attached again. I have no idea why it keeps popping off. The last time, it was the other side that came off. I replaced both C-clips then, so I have no idea why this one came off. Its a problem I'm gonna have to get to the bottom of.

Congrats man, glad to see you made some progress from last time. DEFINETLY let your car cool down between runs. When its hot like that, thats when problems start happening. I never run my car more than 3 times, just due to the fact that heat + stress=problems, especially something like your stock clutch.

Nice consistant times  Ha ha j/k. Those times aren't bad at all for just a short ram. Heat does make a diff. or even if you want strip down w/e you don't need in your car. I think that's what i'll try next time i get a chance to hit up the track. 15.8 on no secondaries though.. not likely.

there is no way in hell you ran a 15.8 with no secondaries! lol

but other than that nice run.

on the other hand you may only have one side of the secondaries opening or something weird like that...or they may be intermittently opening...

The only reason i thought the secondaries weren't opening was my MPH sucked ass all night. I would pull VERY nicely at the bottom end, but past 1/8 mile, I just wouldn't go anywhere. Thats what led me to believe that the IMRC wasn't engaging. Not to mention, that I saw with my own eyes the lever piece not attached properly, then I proceeded to go run a 15.8 not 5 minutes later, without me properly hooking that back up.

trust me your imrc was working
you definately know if it isnt! It makes the car slower than almost anything you can imagine. Car will not want to rev past 4k and will make no power.

If it wasnt working even with good driving youd be in the 17s.

I think you are underestimating how much the imrc does for the duratec.
