after reading this twice personally I dont have any sympathy for you it sounds like you were trying to start stuff all night first with the eclipse and then later with the Expedition. yes they threw a bottle at you yes it hit your car and chipped the window. I would have turned around then and called in the plates. I might have followed them but not the second time I saw them and, I would not have done a RICER flyby of all things which is what you did!!! I mean really thinking that they would stop after everything they did already yeah right, they probably wouldn't have stopped for the cops let alone somebody in a cougar that has been following them around all night. you took a risk and you and your car got OWNED by some seventeen year olds in a expedition. things could have been alot worse for you from the beginning you should have let the cops handle it and just followed them if they left town again then so what. let them go if the cops have thhe plate number they can take care of them later... if you want to make sure something was done you should have called the sheriffs office the next day and asked. if it was taken care of. what if these guys would have stopped. they probably would have beaten your ass when you got out all pissed off I mean there is one of you and two of them or when you got out they could have hit you or they might have even been carrying a gun and pulled that on you... People are crazy these days I will end this rant by saying you are lucky to have gotten off with a chapped ass on your cougar. it could have been a lot worse

Oh BTW are you sure you didn't drive down any dirt roads because those pics with the damage look like you have been driving in dirt maybe gravel but that is worse for your paint then dirt. just wondering cause I know when I clean my car it takes at least a week or two to look like that even with a lot of driving.

Man I have been in your position last week I was minding my own business driving down the road when truck full of dumb ass hicks started launching fireworks at my car. three or four hitting it, I was pissed I called the cops. they were busy called the cops in the next county they were busy... but said that they would take care of it when they could next day i get a call the arrested all 5 kids in the truck. and were waiting on me to come down and Id the truck and the three that were in the back...

Just because you come from a police family doesn't mean you have a right and duty to anything about idiots on the road. call it in and let the real cops handle it... even though I call in drunks and stupid idiots on the road too...

how the hell was he trying to start stuff w. the expedition? i don't care who you are if you are just riding down the street and someone throws a friggin bottle at your windshield and chips it you're gonna get pissed and turn around to AT LEAST get the plate. more passive people would call the 5-0 and leave it at that, which is understandable. maybe yelling ricer at the eclipse was perhaps uncalled for but im sure that at some point while some of us probably have not yelled it out the window, we have in some way acknowledged that a car / driver is eating too much uncle ben's. you might as well be the human torch if you're gonna ride around with dubs, that color paint, dual folger's and a wing that looks like you looted boeing's junk yard. as far as following them again and get rearended...perhaps not the best move grasshopper. up to that point all you had was a ding in your windshield. i can understand where you are coming from, i would have been pissed as hell and turned around and probably followed el dousche till the po-po decided to protect and serve. while i sympathize with what happened after that, any / all flamage that you get is just the name of the game for posting in this section.

And I can't say I've hung around high school football games since...well, high school, BUT as far as what the kids in the Expedition did....throwing a bottle at your car just because they were young, drunk, and stupid...now that's a different story. I'd have done the same thing you did...maybe not the flyby, but I probably would have followed them around until the police could catch up and deal with it...

Now thats quite a rap sheet right there, there is NO WAY they should have been released to the parents. If they were, I'd be bringing a load of sh!t with the local PD/DPS/whoever it was that responded for not doing their jobs.

They 1st of all shouldn't be driving drunk especial down here(TX). We get enough drunk driving as it is with adults. My opinion u did what u had to "MAKE SURE" that u didn't get F*cked over with there riche rich parents saying "no no officer, my son was with us last night". I've seen it before so in ur part u did enough as it is because I know how it is over here with the cops, theres 1 per every 100miles it seems which is :bs:. All I can say after thinking about this for a couple of days is..

1- Calm the *@#% down people. Any more flaming and not only will I lock this thread but I'll look for repeat offenders and force them to bend over and take it up the... er.. wait. Forget the last part.

2- You handled it stupidly in the first place but in the end they got what they deserved and you made out okay. You'll just have to suffer the consequences of dealing with a busted-up bumper for a while as a reminder to be a little more calm next time. ;)

3- Asshats like the guys in that car are the reason why I keep a cup full of nickels in mine. Hey, you chip my windshield, I chip yours and go home, [censored]. Ok so I had time to read most of this now. I had something similar happen to me. A guy passed me on double yellows after tailgateing me. In my arrogance I sped up. Well he tried to run me off the road and then I followed him calling the cops.

Well the cops never showed up... but his buddies did and blocked me in on a side road. The surrounded my car and everything. They got out and told me to get out of my car. I didnt. That was the smartest thing I ever did.


All I have to say is your lucky like me. Your lucky those people in the SUV were crazy psychoes. Your lucky there werent 5 guys in that SUV looking for a fight or worse.

What were you going to do by yourself on a back country road if five guys surrounded you and beat the hell out of you? What if one of them just walked up to your window and shot you in the face?


Next time just calm down and realize that its not that important or that following them isnt going to solve anything. Get their liscense plates, file a report and be done with it.
