as far as i know u can just get the boot off of an mtx, put it in place of where ure atx shift plate is and call it a day...a few have it done already (CATerina i'm pretty sure for one)...shouldnt be too difficult of a mod at all. if u do decide to do it tho, i'd definitely look into an aftermarket shifter

aftermarket shifter and get a boot replacement for a mtx (stock or aftermarket) (fits into the same housing as the ATX shift plate)

I have a red/black shift boot combo that I want to sell.. the shift boot fits any year but I think the ebrake boot fits best in a 01+ console because I knotched all the holes for the plastic ring trim to fit into.
bright red and pebbled black 2 tone... perfect condition.

Well its not to hard seeing that 4 clicks down is Drive and 2 is reverse.

I don't know about others, but like CAT said, you just feel it... I never look down at mine, I just shift and go! I've never mis-geared it yet.

Hi CATerina!
You're right, I realized that even I seem to switch from Reverse to Drive and vice versa...
I do however seem to look each time I switch from Park to Drive or Reverse but I guess if I had no visual indication of which speed the transmission is in I would eventually get used to it.
Thanks!
Nick
PS: Your car's interior is VERY nice...

Hi Excelcier!
As I mentioned to CATerina in the message above this one I realized that I do it a little myself... I'm pretty sure though that it would take a while before I don't misgear it...
I wonder if it would be possible to have a visual (maybe using multiple leds) or (even better  ) verbal confirmation of a change of gear?
Thanks!
Nick
PS: You also have a very nice car... It shows that both you and CATerina invest a lot of time tweaking/modding their cars...

yeah the shift plate pops out real easy like said above just take a flat head screw driver and put in the drvier's side of is and you should be able to pop it out no problem.... keep in mind you are most likely going to have to cut your shifter down so that you don't see any of the metal sticking out....not hard though, just take a hack saw and cut it....(remove the plastic piece inside first though)
