what is the most common 3L swap done? or what do you guys have in your cars... like taurus/escape or whatever.
the biggest difference i seen in the engines is rpm limits. say if i took a 3L escape, could i safely have the chip reburnt to allow a 6500 or so redline?
i'm just trying to get more input before i look for an engine to buy in a few months

I'm using a 2004 Escape block. Someone jump in here if I'm wrong, but all the 3L blocks 2001+, from a block perspective, are basically the same. You could have a chip reburnt to allow a 6500RPM redline.... but that's 250 below your current redline!! :disgust: Mine's set to 7400rpm. Pretty sure InfamousHK's is set to 7500rpm. Doesn't mean it's recommended though. I think Demon's site has some good discussion on redlines, including what's safe, and what precautions should be taken.

No, having the ADC chip reburnt for a new setup is enough.
