View Full Version : need help...
ok, so I ordered LED's from oznium.com and they arrived yesterday...now on my friend's mustang, his LED's came with wires...these LED's have two rod-like things comming out of them... did I get the wrong ones??? or do I have to sodder them together.

the rod like things are the positive and negative legs... sounds like your friends just had the wires already soldered to them.

those are the only type of LEDs I've used. they'll need to be trimmed and soldered in place (after the resistor). Find some of the LED tutorials - they should have some pix showing them.
in addition to the great info they all have, here's my 2cents... testing the LEDs on your car's 3V remote battery is good... testing them on your 3.6V cell phone's battery will cause them to explode into a million flying pieces of smoking plastic.
thanx for the info...and my friend bought them with wires comming directly from the led...that's where I was getting confused...plus I don't know how to sodder, so i'll look for some how two's lol thanx for the help :)

A company called Varad sells the LEDs with the wires and resistors for $20 for four. Im sure you could find them on ebay for cheaper.
Edited: Heres a link to an ebay ad. (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7977046931&category=33713)
