hey guys,
So I am one of the Chicago guys. There is a very strong chance I will be moving to the DC area to take a job. [the job is an engineering job for the US patent office]. I've been job hunting for almost a year now and havent been able to convince myself of moving away from Chicago. I have to say that one of my relocation requirements was a strong NECO chapter. I don't think I am going to find any stronger than you guys. Anyways I'll keep you guys updated and I should know for certain within the next two weeks.

cheers,
Terry

[forgive the creepy avatar... its only temporary]

Patent Office, eh? Their new building is a stone's throw from my place...if you have a really strong arm. Straight line distance is probably half a mile or so.

We're pretty strong. Just look at this picture (http://rjmarq.org/cougar/meet-2engineswap/Dan%20lifting%20his%20car.jpg) of Dan picking up his car! ;)

Welcome to DC!

Holy Sh!t!

Whats up Terry, remember me from CF last year? Im the guy from the Milwaukee area. You went to Marquette right?

Us peoples on here can help you find living and such. Don't go by the advertisements as far as rentals, they all lie. Especially when it comes to commute time and neighborhood safety. I am unsure of where the patent office is, RJ, is that crystal city?

Keep us updated if you are coming, I'd be happy to show you around town. It can be overwhelming at first, especially the traffic. (Way worse than chicago believe it or not)

Take it easy!

For now, yes, but I think they're moving to the new building as we speak. The old location is right across from National Airport.

a prepped 3L would be a good start... lol.. j/k

thanks for the warm welcome.

and chris, jesus christ, I was wondering what the hell happened to you [completely missed the boat that you werent living in the midwest anymore].

I'm real excited about this job, I've always been big on the research end of engineering. I've also been strongly considering law school. This job is the best of both worlds because they will pay for any education I go for.

and yes if I could get some help on apartment hunting, that would be a godsend [and I would GLADLY compensate you for your time]. But first I need to hear back about the job.

*searches pockets* Nope, no fully prepped 3L's here! ;)

Good luck with the job process! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!
