My dad sold his 1999 Jetta GL (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y105/Userdrew/99front.jpg) back to the dealership in a special offer. I learned stick on that car and burned my first civic in it also. As a base model it didn't have anything to special, radio with a tape deck and A/C and power steering and ABS where the only things special to it (And they are all now pretty much standard in cars). Miramar VW offered to buy back the car at higher than Bluebook value and finish his last few months of payments. So today I drove my cougar and he drove the 99 Jetta (http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y105/Userdrew/99front2.jpg) there. We both test drove the same Graphite Blue 2005 Jetta and it is a really sweet ride. So after some bargaining (I totally showed that salesmen, he was a good guy) and two hours of waiting we rolled off the lot with it. Looking at the list of Comfort and convenience it has over 25 standard features, 11 for safety/durability and 9 No charge special features. It came with a 6-CD indash changer and this supersweet audio system. The only extra charge besides the distination charge was the sunroof. Hell, the digital radio display even displays the name of the song you are listening to and who wrote it when you are listening to a song on the radio. The Jetta really has grown up.
I sinned becuase I offered my dad my Cougar for it. :cover:
The Cougar IS like 250 lbs lighter and does have 20 someodd more horses. However this car puts out more torque at a lower RPM than the cougar.

anyway, I thought I'd share it with you.
Personally I think it needs to be dropped 2 inches or so.
