Well school is over this next thursday :) and my small summer modding will begin, and im goign to start it off with either painting the headlights, or taking out the orange reflector.
I could go the Classic style of painting my headlights and paint them all body color to match (Rio Red) Like option #1 in the poll.
http://www.fastcougar.com/forums/attachments/paintedheadlight2%2Ejpg
I could go with option #2 which i have only seen on this cougar, and it will be rio red, and removed orange reflector removed
http://www.fastcougar.com/forums/attachments/cougarJanuary2.jpg
I could go the alternative classic style and paint the main housing red but leave the round pieces around the bulbs black the opposite of the one above, option #3.

honostly i would just take the orange reflector out and not paint them. the black looks really good with the black hood and the red!!! thats just my opinion

yeah, i have been contemplating just leaving them black ,because they match the hood. I will take that into consideration

Yup...I'd leave them black and just remove the reflector.
Painting them would be way too much red in my opinion.
You could also just buy a set of Euros :)

Where can you buy Euros?

From Custom Cougars, or occasionally pick up a used set. They just have a clear reflector in them.
JlCamp7 and a few others have made their own clear reflector as well.
I might have a set of 99/00 Euros for sale soon...another member might be interested...if not, I'll post them up.

Option 3 isn't really a "classic style", but I'm going to be biast here and say Option 3. I have it done.
But I have molded my reflector to the inside housing and painted it, minus the small triangle portion that lights up.

oh i know, rikenbombs headlights look so good! i think i will do mine like his, but what i dont get is how he did the sidemarker part and molded it?
Rikenbomb

It's quite easy. I left the orange part attached, sanded it down w/40 or 60 grit sand paper, then laid tigerhair over it. Then bondo then automotive finisher. If you need to know more, shoot me a PM.
KnappstamaN

tigerhair huh? what is that?? fancy brand name for fiberglass matt?
Rikenbomb
05-30-2005, 01:42 AM
It's bondo and fiberglas strands combined. I did not use fiberglass mats. I felt it was too small of an area to work with.

i say you should but the 99-00 euro headlights from customcougars.com...thats what i did..think they look much cleaner and they get rid of the orange reflector and replace it with a white/clear one here's the link (http://www.customcougars.com/exterior/9900EuropeanHeadLights.htm)
