Can the headliner be removed without removing all the plastic trim around it?
also, aside from the three pop-out screws and the visors, is there anything else holding it up there?

you could probably get the trim out but it would bend very badly and would be a PITA to put back in so ill say the trim has to come out. you have to take off the visors as well as the center light console. There should be some douible sided tape in the middle of the headliner that helps to hold it up

damn it... i just reinstalled ALL my trim after painting it... SOB! :)

yea no kidding... gettin those front pillars back IN wasa bit of a pain... but I wont have to take them out that far up
