2002 taurus/sable engine ??

i have a 02 taurus 3L, im confused as to why i need to swap the oil pan and oil pickup out of my 2.5?? also the 2.5 timing cover?? is there clearence problems with the pan or something??

because the transmission bolt pattern on the oil pans isn't the same. the taurus pan is not the same depth as the cougar pan, so the cougar pickup needs to be used. the taurus timing cover is a completely different design than the cougar timing cover. it wont fit.
