Hey guys/gals. What ever happened w/ the talk of maybe a group dyno for maybe a little discount or what not. I'd really like to get my car dynoed so i can send in a copy of my graph to ADC for when i have the mula to get my chip. Plus it'd be really nice to know exactly what i'm putting down at the wheels, I chirped my tires pretty good today from a start on dry clean pavement! w00 for my auto!!
I'm waiting on funds still, but i promise i'm not gonna be the slowest auto here.

I'll call today on lunch but I need to know approximately how many people are interested.
INTERESTED it doesn't mean for sure (because we don't have a price yet)
But I need to know by like 2:00pm today before I call.

Well I'll be going in pretty soon. Since the AFCII is installed and seems to function quite nicely.
Tunning for me will be $100/hr the other place I found in Westlake that has a portable dynometer
was $150/hr. So I'm definetly going here since it's 5 minutes from my house.
And he said they should be able to tune my car with and without nitrous for $100.00. :)
They said if we get atleast 8 cars it'll be $75 per person. And we get the place to ourselves for
the whole day. (obviously) 1hr per car = 8 hrs
But I'm probably gonna go up before we all do cause I'm sure it'll be awhile before we get 8 people
to agree on a date and agree to go.

so this isnt just dynoing. this is actual dyno tuning? so by the end of this we can look to see a hp and tq increase, right?

Mike, do I have to have a Apexi etc. to get my car tuned by them?? Cuz uh well, for 100 Im totally in for tuning too if that helps. Especially if its with and without Nitrous, cuz I wanna get this done after I get my straight pipe or high flow pipe installed, if you get me an answer and a date Ill order the part monday so I can get it on ASAP.
Thanks!!

They said if we get atleast 8 cars it'll be $75 per person. And we get the place to ourselves for
1/hr per car would be tuning. As far as what gains you will see...well what do you have on your car?
Is there anything that effects air flow or fuel delivery??? Honestly this will be my first time getting my
car tuned by a shop. I'm sure I will see gains because I already have a device made to help tune in my car
(and it's heavily modded).
I'll call back and ask what can be tuned if you have an intake and cat back exhaust.
Aaron do you have any engine mods on your new car?
If you have a lightly modded 2.5 or stock 2.5 don't expect hp or tq gains.
I have all kinds of things that throw the car off that it will need to be tuned for.
75mm Pro-M MAF
19lb injectors
SVT UIM, LIM, TB
Headers with no cat and flowmaster
Nitrous
So I have lots of air--->lots of gas----> and no back pressure------> and the car thinks I'm running a stock base
package set up with 17lb injectors and restrictive air box. You see what I'm saying?

Well then. What exactly is he going to be tuning? spark, valve, injector timing? I'm not quite sure what can be done on a stock ecu. Would he be able to do shift points as well(auto tranny)? Wouldn't you need a chip really tune your car, I'm assuming a dyno tune like this would kick a chips butt. I think my car could benefit from a tune.. though it's still just somewhat lightly modded.
I'm def. in on this. I'll take off work for sure.

Well then. What exactly is he going to be tuning? spark, valve, injector timing? I'm not quite sure what can be done on a stock ecu.
Without something that taps into the ECU nothing can be tuned on our cars (at the dyno).
Also you can't change valve timing unless you have adjustable cam gears.
Alot can be done on a stock ECU you just need the proper equipment on your car.
I spoke with them again after I got home. If you are looking to get your car tuned you
need to have something to tune with. Mafterburner, Apexi AFC 1 or 2, TwEECer, MAF adjuster
.
BUT if you are looking into getting a chip and need to send off you A/F ratio this would be the
best time and place to do it.
Either way let me know what you guys wanna do. After I'm done turning my bottle around and
it's filled I'm going up there. Probably June4th.

Ok. I think that'll be my best bet. Just get a dyno so see what's going on and than ship out my chart so they can tune it accordingly.. that way it'll be more of a *tuned* chip.
I'm up for it mang.. whenever.. just set a date and i'll make sure i get there.
*Ok. Well, actually as long as it's not on the 18th.. that's warped tour.

June 4th is the date reply here if you can make it.
Remember we need 8 cars to get the discount.
Either way I'll be there June 4th.

so it's 100 dollars w/o just for a dyno? hmmm.. i'd like to get the discount price.. or is there a lower price for just a couple dyno runs since i'm sure it'll take no longer than 15 minutes to do a simple dyno.

I think the problem is most people don't just go to a dyno expecting numbers.
They are there to tune their car which for the most part can take 1 to 2 hours or more.
So there base price is $100.00/hr for a tune. Not sure if they would cut you a deal for
just numbers and a chart. When I spoke to him yesterday he said they would need
advanced notice if we had 8+ people coming. Because they are all booked up.
Honestly there is no way we are going to get 8 people from OHIO NECO to agree on a
date and actually be able to show up with money in hand. There just aren't enough heavily
modded cars in OHIO NECO that can actually get tuned......I think I'm the only one right?
I'll try and stop up there this weekend and ask about special pricing if it only takes a half an
hour for the car to dyno. Maybe it'll only be $50.00:shrug:
So I'm gonna go June4th and see how it all works and how good they are and
I'll report back here with results.

The weekends are totally booked they are taking the dyno out of town
so I'm going in June 7th at 7pm instead of June 4th.
