Havent installed them yet. Will be doign that later this week.

Is this the new "thing"
I've thought about putting ultra bright LED behind the mirror, hoping that it would illuminate
around the outside.

How do you think? It would be totally legal. They're not pointing towards the front of the car, it would be like the arrows in the mirror...

@ericF: I dunno if its the new cool thing... I decided to make something new tonight... i think it looks pretty cool...
They arent illegal.
#1 - They aren't THROWING red light towards the front of the car
#2 - They obstruct nothing
#3 - They are the same color as other mirror turn signals
#4 - cause I said so :)

Eh, I kinda based it off of those neon lit license plate frames, which do not fly well with cops around here, and I see people get pulled over with them all the time.
I did say I think they "LOOK" illegal, I didn't say they absolutely ARE illegal.

Well, I'm wiring mine to the sidemarkers... so the cop would have ot pull me over for signaling during a turn :)

to be honest, at first i didn't really like it but now that i think about it ... its going to look real good installed ... how-to maybe?
I was also thinking of having my mirror caps cut and installing custom LEDs on my mirrors in the front ... i think that would look sick

id say as long as they are not on all the time there should be no problem, red > signals in the mirrors of other cars arnt illegal.
