SVT Contour Trans.

One of my friends is interested in helping me do this atx-mtx swap and I was wondering if I can find a SVT contour mtx used or new if I could use that so that why I already have the svt clutch/flywheel.....Will this work???

The trans from the SVT contour and the Cougar (in same years) will be the same...both trans are MTX75's and are compatible with the SVT clutch and flywheel...

Get whatever ya can, preferable a trans made post-2000 model year. The newer the better.

So in other words say I found a 99' svt contour tranny, ecu, and engine I could end up swapping all of it correct???

I too was going to go this route but I found an 02' Tranny with 9,000 miles on it.

I'd still honestly look for a newer trans...lower mileage and upgraded internals...

The newer the better...

When was the last year of the SVT contour so I can try and find that tranny.......that trans will go with say a 99 engine correct??

2000 IIRC. You can also look for a newer Cougar trans. as they are the same.

So can I use either the contour mtx subframe or do I have to find a mtx cougar subframe

it doesn't matter their the same. Check out capaldi racing, I think they sell better internals if i am correct.
