Any opinions on Bay Ford at Bay & College? Any other places you swear by for service (just regular maintenance stuff right now) located in central or downtown Toronto? '99 Cougar.

I've been having connection issues with the stock headunit. I've pulled it out and find that at least one of the plugs is a bit loose which is causing signal to drop from the right speakers unless I press in the right side of the headunit with my finger. It works for a while but eventually happens again. Anyone know a good audio place to redo the connections so this never happens again? No, I'm not interested in doing it myself.

never dealt with bay ford, but i'm assuming u are out of warranty....if that is case, i would say its probably better to just buy an aftermarket deck and skip the whole hassle of trying to fix the junky stock unit...if you are hellbent on making the stock unit work, again, i would suggest buying a used stock headunit (there are tons to be had right here on the boards in the for sale section and on ebay as well), and just use that because it will be plug and play so to speak and you won't need a wiring harness or have to pay anybody to do the install for you...

I invested some serious coin several years ago in a Phatbox so the stock headunit stays. I did the aftermarket headunit ahead of the Phatbox and I think most are ugly and don't take advantage of the automatic volume control. I don't think there's anything wrong with the headunit itself. It's just one or two plugs at the back that are loose and need to be redone.
