Hi everybody. Well i just got my cougar about a month ago. So far all I have put in it is an intake from K&N. What I want to do next is put in a new throttle body and spacer. I have a 2000 Cougar 2.5 V6. Does anybody know where i can get a good one at? Thankx.

A spacer is not needed.

if your wishing to get a higher flowing Throttle body the SVT Contour throttle body will be an excellent upgrade. You will however also need a SVT throttle bracket and in most cases an SVT throttle cable.

This is an excellent upgrade and will net a few HP more or less depending on your mods. Most importantly Throttle response will be much improved.

Prices are roughly:
~$135 SVT tb
~$35 bracket
~$20 cable
~$10 SVT TB Gasket

However your stock 2.5L Intake manifold TB inlet will now be too small for the larger SVT TB. (I cannot confirm this...but if this is true then you will need to do the following)

Aluminum is not too hard to cut. Pick up a cheap dremel and grind away the lip around the inlet of the TB. Be 100% sure to place lots and lots of rags covered in grease inside the UIM TB inlet in order to catch the metal shavings. Then be 100% sure to clean it all out.

OR

You can just buy the Double Extrude Honed SVT UIM from an SVT Contour. Check over on CEG (http://www.contour.org). Maybe you will get lucky and see both the TB and SVT UIM for sale together.

The SVT UIM and TB will make for an excellent upgrade. The SVT UIM alone flows about 20% more than stock.
