I just bought a C2 guage cluster off of ebay to replace my stock 99. The lens on the C2 is broken so I thought that I would be able to use the lens off of my cluster but it looks like it is impossible to remove without breaking. I tried to remove the broken one and just broke it worse because it seems to be glued on. I tried heating it and that did not help either. I could just use my whole front but I like the silver rings around the C2. Anyone have any good ideas? I thought about taping the inside and trying to paint it but there really isn't enough room. Thanks in advance for any help or advise.

Thanks, that helps a lot. Now I am going to have to go out and by a dremel. Anyone else have any pics of their guages modified the same way?

hmm... I just used a small flat head screw driver and Slid it along any openings where the plastic meets I could find breaking the welds and "peeled" it off, didn't break a thing. I didn't have a dremel at the moment. I painted the outside top black and then applied a small bead of black RTV silcone to the cluster frame and layed the plastic piece back on. Not saying this is the best way, just saying this is how I did it. I didn't get breaks or anything, but I was too anxious to get something done so I attempted and succeeded.

Looks like you changed your mind on colors. The red looks pretty good.

Yea, the red flows well with the interior and the car being black and being able to see parts of it from the outside just looks cool. I am in the process of doing blue LED's cept for the hatch popper which will be red. And maybe perhaps the guage numbers will be red... will have to see.
