Well today a punk kid in my school decided he was goin to be cool and drive like an idiot on the highway. We got off the highway and came up to a stop light. I pulled up next to him and started telling him how much of an idiot he was making of himself by driving like that. He ignored me and kept reving his engine. At green he peeled his tires, I hesitated a second then caught up by 3rd, passed him in 4th, and got a car length ahead in 5th. By then we were up to 55mph, the speed limit on the road we were on, and I got in front of him to keep him from doing anything else. When we arrived at my friends house, I once again let him know how dumb he was being swerving in and out of traffic like that. I also let him know how much a punk he is drving a v8 jeep grand cherokee and how bad that must suck getting beat by a v6 cougar. Hopefully it was a lessoned learned. Above the speed limit was not acheived by me, and there was no traffic after the highway.

Like I said guys, I wasn't lookin to get a ticket or be stupid and risk an accident. I was on the street, not the track so I took it easy.

the point funkboy was trying to make was that you would reach 55mph well before 5th gear. 55 is what......top of 2nd, first part of 3rd in the cougar? i can't remember......

I know that, I've raced before. This time I was only tryin to take it easy and prove a point to the kid. I was probably in at more of about 60, not that makes much of a difference. Besides, with gas going at about $2.34 a gallon, I was also trying not to suck up a lot of gas.

the other point i was making is that you said he reved his motor and squeeled his tires, meaning he wasnt taking it easy and even if he was in a yugo, if he was on it and you were just cruising it wouldve taken you alot more speed than 55-60 to even catch up to him much less pass him.
im officially raising the flag on this one:bs:

Well, think what you want. I've noticed people are changing a lot on this forum. When I first joined everyone seemed really nice and wasn't so harsh and critical. I've noticed now that it seems everyone is attacking everyone on almost anything. Especially, I've seen a lot of people getting on newbies. For sake of the newbies, not eveyone spends every waking moment searching all over the forums in order to insure their question is valid. I don't understand why it seems so many members, especially some of the moderators of all people, are on here anymore criticizing everyone for whatever they have to say. It seems as if the welcoming cougar community I once new is dissappearing and it's moving towards a group of close nit individuals, and if you don't have the same opinion then you can basically forget about it. Well, I was the one there putting the kid in his place, believe it or not I beat him without putting people on the road at risk. It seems like people don't think you can get in a small little race without ripping through the gears in excess speeds. For those types of races, I'll use my head and keep it on the track. If you disagree, then your nothing more in my opinion than one of those little punks racing around in a pos rice burner squealing his tires at every chance he gets. I hope this place eventually gets back to how it used to be and people can just discuss things and help each other out without being criticized. For those of you who are still on here that way I thank you because I think everyone will agree that it is much more enjoyable to be in a cougar community of friends.
Thanks,
Jeff

You raced a jeep because he was driving like an ass in traffic? Yeah you showed him, and you're right, he's the one who sucks...

all i was saying is you feel like you beat him in a race...........dude after he took you off the line and you slowly caught up after way down the road in 5th gear at 55mph...what makes you think he hadnt let off the gas...... i know i would have. you call him rice...but from your own description it appears your the one that did the ricer flyby after he was already way down the road.
and as for your moderator comments i wasnt bashing you and am still not......if you dont want ppl to respond to your post then dont post it. you have to learn to take the good with the bad on a forum. you will never get 100% of the ppl to agree with you all the time

this story just sounds like another day in traffic.....not a race.....just one car passing another at 55-60mph. a race is ripping through the gears.

That was also how how I was feeling but if you consider that a race then goodjob to you but u said you were putting him in his place cause he was driving like an idiot around other drivers. You also are the one who passd him and considered it a race so you were also driving like he was. It aint bashing its others peoples opinions and like what was said if you dont like what people say or totally 100% agree with you, you shouldnt post it. Trust me iv made a topic and got some responses like that to. Its all in the fun of other opinions.

Well, I guess it could be considered a normal day in traffic if you want to look at it that way. I got up in front of him to regulate his speed because I knew there was a one way street ahead and he couldn't pass so he would be forced to drive the normal speed. I understand people have differences in opinions, it's just how much slamming in other post that I've seen that kinda bugged me, especially with the newbies. My main goal in what I did was to try and force him to drive normal, thats why i got up ahead of him in order to "force" him to do so.

I got harsh replies from not really racing, when people are praising another member who talked of continously racing a vette on the street.

yah he beat the vette. tho that is a heck of an impresive feat no matter where he raced him.. I prefer the street it is cheaper but from your name so do u?
streetracer8605

from my name it may seem as if it were that way, but i learned my lesson the hard way in my old car so now i stick to the track. I do admit that is a good feat though.

Jeff,
I'm not really sure why people think that vigilante driving and 'forcing' people to drive normal is a good thing. This is just a different form of road rage and probably worse than street racing considering that you're inciting even more rage from the other driver, and neither of you is paying attention to the road because you're consumed with each other.

this thread is retarded....and the reason you're getting a hard time is because you're trying to show morals by beating a jeep by not really racing....come on now.....some of us were readily equipped with this groovy thing called intellegence....
anywayz good kill :loser:

My car wasn't cheap to me when I bought it, and everything I've done hasn't been cheap for me. I pay for it all and I do all the work myself, so I'm not some punk kid who got a nice car all paid for. I work hard to afford my payments, so I suggest before someone makes a comment like that they may want to think about how the other person came to get their car. As for the comment on intelligence, using big words such as stupid ass and dumbness isn't exactly a demonstration of one's own "higher" intelligence. Besides, I understand the moderators responses now, and I corrected myself in what happened. So I don't feel the need to continue arguing or commenting on this thread any further.
Jeff,
