Is it difficult to sand down a drift bumper

Ok I was thinking about sanding down my own front bumper but i have heard that it is not hard but something can go wrong. Are there any pointers that you can give me on how to sand it down.

have you met my friend BLOCK?

sanding blocks of different sizes help. no hand sanding, it'll leave small valleys that are annoying to me.
