I dont know Dan. I think the caps would look out of place. You don't have any other CF on your exterior.

So, it looks like somebody is taking a page out of my old play book... ;)

First things first, if you're going with CF, ditch the silver wheels. You need black w/ a polished lip, or at the very least gunmetal w/ a polished lip.

I'm seriously contemplating the new S hood. There is also a carbon fiber composite place up near Zurich that was talking to me at the car show, about possibly making me a hood. I have alot of carbon stuff coming...full dash etc, so I'll wait and see. My manifold is SOOOO hot, I wanna start releasing some heat.

CF mirror covers? :puke: Black wheels with polished lip?! :puke:

Just my opinion...

I'll be honest and state I'm not doing the hood right away, I like the look on Rikenbombs car, that was more what was making me think about it.

The carbon covers (for the time being) will act as a great stone guard for the time being. I actually had my passenger mirror painted when the drivers side was done because half the paint was chipping due to rocks. In addition, I want to see a group buy succeed, so putting the name on the list helps it get going, and I don't think it will look to bad with the tint......and on a side note....if I have to sell them later...I'm sure I'll get what I paid in the end :)

Nah, Mike. Your car looked great! Just don't dig the wheels. The hood looks great because of the ram-air structure, and the "powerdome". Love the look of that, and want to get one. But not CF. Fiberglass that I can paint over. I know if I painted over a CF hood people would freak out. It's just my opinion, so I guess it doesn't count for much. I just don't dig the look of carbon fibre.

I'm with you, some people overdo it. I don't mind a little on the interior, but putting it all over the car looks like :puke:

But hey it's not my car, people can do whatever they like.

i used to be pretty anti-carbon fiber....i'm starting to warm up to it a little now and understand the attraction...i don't ever want to go overboard on anything, but the carbon fiber kam hood is just sex, there is no two ways about it...plus the fact that when i went to mike's house to get it, i could pick it up off the ground by the latch with just two fingers and with hardly any effort whatsoever was a real turn on :naughty:

I agree Ajay, That hood is nice, and the weight reduction is great. I don't have a problem with that, it these people who change ever single piece they can find in CF regardless if it looks good or not. All that matters is that its CF. CF is nice if its done tastefully.

I agree, its very easy to go overboard with CF. But it can be tastefully done. If I still had my car i'd be getting the CF mirror caps and probably a CF fuel door. More than that is just too much. ;)

haha sorry I'm in BC, but my chapter doesn't talk a lot so I figured I'd check out the Toronto boards... I have some west coast opinion to add to this!
CarbonFiber looks nice, but not on the exterior of the car, unless your cars black, the fact of teh matter is, is whos smart idea was it to leave unpainted material on the exterior of there cars? it's dumb, CF is seriously sweet for going light weight, but it needs to be painted the same colour of the car or used as a 2 tone otherwise it's just gay, you wouldn't leave an unpainted fiberglass hood on your car why leave an unpainted CF hood? looks like a rat rod style to me! not very tasteful IMO

haha well really like even if it's painted you can still show it off and tell people it's CF, to me that would be more impressive, because you spent more time and money to get it painted then just to clear coat it and go! I mean you don't see nice cars with Big monster cables in there cars showing off that that's how they power there speakers with expensive wire! haha they hide that [censored], but the detail is still evident for the most part! I just think the diamond is in the detail when it comes to that stuff, and having CF unpainted and not matching on your car isn't that cool, except for the fact that there drasticly lowering the weight of there cars in some cases!
