Hey, Carolina NECO folks. Some of you have no doubt seen me around the boards or talked to me before; I've been posting since late 2003. I'm a member of the EURO-NECO chapter, but that's about to change. After six years overseas with the military, I'll be returning to the states. It was a toss up between my home town of Atlanta or my wife's of Charlotte, and the NC won out.

So I'll be "transferring" from EURO-NECO to Carolina NECO.

I love the area - I lived in Charlotte myself for about four years, going across the state line to USC-Lancaster to get my associates degree and then drinking my way out of UNC-C and straight into the Army. But I've done my time (and then some) for the US of A and I'm ready to get back to civilian life. I don't have an exact date for my return yet, but it will be this year - hopefully be fall.

I'll miss my EURO-NECO buddies and we'll keep in touch through e-mail and the forums, but it feels good to be moving on and going home.

I look forward to being back and getting to see you all and your cars in person. And finally getting to attend a CougarFest - thank GOD!!!

Hey, GMK - I've got family in Old Fort, so a side trip to Asheville for a little meet would be no problem. My first order of business when I get back to the US is a little body work, followed by a little finishing work on the motor, tranny and turbo setup. I can't wait to get the car "completed." And all the parts I can get back home... ah, and Wal-Mart. Oh, and Waffle House...

No [censored] - that's cool. Yeah - last name is Goldsmith, as in Jim & Susan. Recently divorced, unfortunately, but I still consider both family. Let's see, born in 1983 means you'd be about the same age as my cousins - Susanne and Elizabeth (twins). Ring any bells?

Mostly the choice of my wife, plus most of my family has moved up north, away from Atlanta. Charlotte is centrally located from a visiting standpoint. But Atlanta is my home and only a few hours from Charlotte, so I expect to visit often...
