So, I know Dev's car is still inoperable, and mine currently has a trashed tranny.
Anyone else suffering from Cougar-failure and forced to drive a beater currently? The 94' Laser isn't doing as well as it used to. ;)

I didn't post this thread to become an advertising magnet, thanks.
I'll reserve judgement about the quality of your 3L swaps to myself, however, because I'm a nice guy. :)

Yes, I know about many of the 3.0L Swaps you did, and since you decided to continue posting advertisments in this thread, now it's my turn to debunk the theory of "You've tried the rest, now come to the best" stuff.
So....
How many of those 3.0L's did you have to redo?
I seem to recall many problems cropping up on several of the installs, and in fact on one of them you blamed my friend ROZWELL911CSVT for selling him "bad heads", when it was your fault for screwing up on them in the first place. :)
Wait, what about the loose cam caps on Johnny H's 3.0 SVT?
I don't know the details of Tigger's failure, precisely, and we never did figure out whether it was poor inspection of the block or not, so I'll let that one slide.
Let's see. I'm not an ASE certified mechanic (ASE stands for what again? Another Stupid Employee? ), nor is Lupe, nor is our friend Elliot (Who has been building motors for years, including helping build one of the hottest Viper show/race cars around ( http://www.teamhokori.com/html/allen_ward.html ) for Al Ward.
To top that off, I have NEVER BUILT A MOTOR IN MY DAMN LIFE, nor has Lupe. Elliot has NEVER touched a Duratec in his life. And did we make any mistakes when building it?
Yes, 1. We had the pulse wheel on wrong (Elliot put it on wrong), though it was an easy fix and didn't damage the car.
20k miles later, nothing wrong whatsoever. And we even built one of those "Doomed to fail" hybrids.
(Although we do thank you for the help pulling it out :))
So, like I said, if you want the real truth, I suggest you contact any of those customers prior to deciding on whether or not you want to pay for that kind of service. Unless I have hard evidence that Robert's work is 100% good the first time out the door, I won't be taking my car to him for trans replacement. I'd rather do it myself in my carport, because even though I've never done it before, I trust my work. :)
Please don't get me wrong people- Robert is a cool guy, very cool to hang out with and loves cars a lot, I'm just saying that case history shows that perhaps his work isn't as spit-and-polish as he suggests. :)
Lesson learned: That's what you get for hijacking my thread with advertisements

2
the first was svtkids because we used lupes heads with the wrong year block the starter would not engage the fly wheel so i removed the engine, svtkid bought a used escape engine i modded the heads, put it in and hes been running fine ever since.
the second was tigger did his swap he put about 1500 miles on it and like a few other oval port 3.0 got rod knock for no apparent reason, but about 2 weeks before he had rod knock he came back to the shop with a ticking sound,
upon inspection i found one cam cap was lose and scorched from lack of oil, so i replaced the one cap, drilled out the oil feed hole which had been covered over with melted aluminum and cranked the engine over to clear the oil feed hole and seen a small amount of a sandy substance come up which i belive was silicate.
i put it back together and it ran fine for 2weeks and then rod knock, so i did another 3.0 swap for him for 1/2 price and hes been running fine since and just passed smog recently as well.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I seem to recall many problems cropping up on several of the installs, and in fact on one of them you blamed my friend ROZWELL911CSVT for selling him "bad heads",
the heads were not bad lupe had used the cam caps that came with the heads on his engine and sold svtkid the heads with no caps, i tried using svtkids svt heads caps on lupes heads and when you torqued the cap bolts the cams would not turn.when the heads are made the caps are line bored with the heads and are not interchangeable,
so to fix this we put the svt caps on lupes heads and had a machine shop line bore the heads so the would work.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v189/lowbudgetracing/caps1.jpg
in this pick you can see where the line bore cut a new path through the svt caps which were all moved over to one side of the escape heads bore center line
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
when it was your fault for screwing up on them in the first place.
how so???

Wait, what about the loose cam caps on Johnny H's 3.0 SVT?
when i did johnnys 3.0 i had a guy help me that said he knew how to work on engines and obviously didn't and does not work for me any more.
also when johnny called me on a saturday to tell me about his lose cap and damaged cam i drove a hour and a half to bring him a new cap and the svt cam out of my car (which had a bad trans at the time) the same day and helped to get his engine back together till 1 in the morning because he said he needed his car by monday.
i have also told johnny that if his engine ever blows i will help him put one in for free.

Yes, the "many phonecalls" consisted of 7 phonecalls all about the same thing and one phonecall about your axle removal tool, don't make it sound like you walked us through the whole process or anything. Now stop hijacking my damn thread. :)
Moderator, can you lock and delete this so I can start it over again free of hijacking? Thanks.

Not trying to hijack? You did it once, I teased you about it lightly and asked you to stop.
So then you did it again, and I threw it back at you. And then you replied again. The thread was a joke about all of the broken Cougars in NorCal NECO, not Robert's Advertisement day.
If you wanted to be done with this thread you shouldn't have started in the first place and should have definitely stopped after I asked the first time.
