I was at work today when this guy that was parked next to me backed up and hit my car. (You know, as he was turning and backing up at the same time) I don't have any pics yet but it looks like they might be replacing the whole rear quarter panel. It was a fairly large van and I could hear it all the way inside. I'm waiting on his insurance company to call me now. If I get time, I'll try to get some pics.

Been there. When the cop hit my quarter panel, State Farm made the body shop refinish the panel and not replace it. So maybe you won't need the whole thing? Sorry about that. Accidents are such a PITA.

I'm going to get some pics up today. I'm sure they will try their hardest to keep the quarter panel on the car. Seeing as the door was hit a little too I'm going to see if they will do anything about how my driver's door drops down a little when it's opened up. I know it's common but it bugs me to no end.:disgust:

Okay, I finally got some pics to put up. Stupid snow... The car is a little worse than the pictures show but it will give you a good idea of the damage.

Ouch! Remember to have them check you control arms too. A hit like that could have thrown them out of whack. Will they just fix it or get a new quarter panel? My hits weren't as extreme as that. Quarter panels are $450 then add labor. Good luck with everything!

had to be the quarter panel, the single hardest part to replace. good luck, hope you get the car back in good shape again.

Thanks. I hope I get it back to normal as well. The slimy little bastar...I mean the insurance adjuster is coming over in less than 2 hours. If he tries to screw me over or gets some bright idea to undervalue my car until he can total it I will punch him in his stupid face. I owe 6,500 on it and I can't afford for him to say it's only worth 4,500 or something stupid and then overprice the repairs and say, "Sorry dude." My mom's car was totaled for something really dumb and it was a nice car. She got a salvage title because there was no reason not to. I'm sure I am getting worked up over nothing but I have never heard of this insurance company before and so I am a little nervous. It would be nice if they would just cut me a fat check and let me get it done myself. I have some sweet hookups that could save me a lot of money and I could probably pocket the rest for my tires and brakes. Probably not though. I'll get back to you guys after I find out more.

Well, thankfully it isn't going to cost as much as I thought it would. The estimate I got was for $1867.59. Now I have to wait on the insurance company to call me back which probably won't be until tomorrow. The body shop said that it would still be cheaper to fix the panel than to replace it because you have about $600 for the part and then they list like 17 hours of labor to replace it and everything. He said if he put 17 hours into fixing it I'd be better off and wouldn't screw with the stock welds and everything. It looks like I have about 28 hours in labor here and 10 in paint. I'd imagine it would take over a week to get it back. I'll just be happy to see my car get fixed and not look like crap.:)
