Ok you all i DO NOT own a cougar nor do plan on owning one but my freinds G/f does and wants it to shift faster. But my Arguement is that in my Zx2 I just put a resistor in the tranny pressure line to boost the pressure in the tranny in turn to make it shift faster. And you connect the resistor in the wire that goes right into the PCM. This mod is VERY inexpensive. But From the many searchs that i have done and [censored] i seem to find nothing of the sort. I mean i see that you can get the transgo crap but i mean isnt there a more inexpensive way of doing this?

Are you sure you don't mean you put a resistor in the IAT sensor and even some ude the ECT sensor to cause the ECU to read cold temps?
This in turn will increase trans oil line pressure to make sure proper lubrication is occurring when the engine/trans is cold...even when it's not. It also creates an advance in ignition timing, which could cause knock if higher octane fuel isn't used.
Generally it is an unsafe mod that many people do, and many people are sorry they did. Tuning the ECU is one thing, tricking it is another...
A cold engine breathing cold air will not use the same ECU settings as a warm engine breathing warm air...

There have been a few, bear in mind that I say "few", CEGer's that have done the IAT mod and found that it did not work. The best way to adjust the shift points and line pressure in a CD4E is to get a chip custom tuned with your specs. I will have to do some serious searching, over at CEG, but I should be able to find a thread or two on this topic.

The cd4e shifts fast enough. Any faster and you'll be calling me for a rebuild. It doesnt matter how fast the trans shifts at the end of the day its still overgeared and slow... Its a four speed geared for 180mph.... no... its not going to get much faster with a chip or any change in the shift shedual... its got the wrong gears to go fast.... period.

Try and PM insta on the TeamZX2 boards. He might know. (Btw insta also make a great shift kit not just a resistor 1 wire in and 1 out in a little black case)
EDIT: helps if i could spell
