headlights & taillights

having a very hard time finding clear headlights,tail lights & side markers for my 99 cougar.anybody know where i can find them?

01-02 headlights are chrome

yeah, you can get aussi/euro headlights but no luck on the tail lights

Correct, no one makes "clear" taillights for the Cougar.

Are you talking about whats commonly reffered to as "Altezza taillights"? I sure as heck hope not. Nothing personal, but that was possibly the worst "mod" ever created. Its just simply stupid, IMO.

What I would do is this: Get taillight covers, and paint them to match your car. They are available in many places (I bought mine at Checker). Another option is TopShop's Carbon Fiber taillight covers. If you are into the whole "Carbon fiber" thing, these are the way to go.

What color is your car? Go into the "Newbies" section, and post more about you and your Cougar.

i got a tourmaline green cougar, and i was wondering if you guys thin the brushed aluminum tail light covers would look good, or should i go for the unpainted and get them painted to match.

WOW... ebay altezza's? These are DEPO tails that retail around $235 + S&H... there not some cheap eclipse tails. It just takes a vision and you can see these will flow with the body lines of the Cougar.

To each there own... it won't affect what I have planned.

OK. I gotta know... HOW did you make those? I like the clear lens. Are you saying that they are Eclipse lenses and/or housings? I need more information on this. I don't want them just like yours, but those do look sharp to me.

Those are stock cougar housings...

That's what it looks like under the red plastic... after removing all of the plastic, that chrome housing is what's left (Luckily) so I didn't have to chrome it ;)

I'll find pictures of it installed on the car...

Oh, minor mods.
I'm gonna break into them and remove all the red and replacing it with some magnifying lenses. Like the projectors and full LED boards backing it up :cool: It'll be sweet as HELL!

I did not read all the topic, but I just wanna know where can i get, or how can i get those (like FrostCougar's ones) taillights. I searched on CustomCougars and didnt find it. I mean, the taillights (contour) which are the color of the car, like we can see in the frostcougar's pic. Sorry if my english is bad, but i speak french !

Welcome to the boards!

Those body-colored taillights are called "taillight covers". They are fairlyu cheap, and super easy to install. Just simply paint them to match your car, and you now have body-colored taillights!

I liked them but I didn't... the tails have been in the closet for about a year now. Don't want to sell them either... oh well :shrug:
