Well... it was back last weekend at least....
did an alt swap on Twinkles.....

I do appreciate all the help though Pierre and we learned a $hitload about the alternator.

so was she as hard to swap as people claim? I will be doing this soon myself so just wondering how it really was.

Nice! Glad ya get her done, Ron... Did you guys do that alt mod as well with the wires you were talking about? If so, did it help you with the computer lights dimming?

It is a brutal job though. Without Pierre's help, it would have been killer. He actually did most of the work as I helped where I could to try to learn. We did both tag-team the guts of the alternator though, it was a great learning experience.

No John I didn't do the alt fix. I studied it well and decided that I did not trust it so I did not do it. I just didn't feel it was safe to do. I never had dimming problems though.

ripping the guts out of the alternator was fun.....
the knowledge of how to find the bolts is one thing... figuring out the best way to remove the bolts is another one too
there is one other bolt not pictured, it holds a small bracket, but it's quite easy to get to.... i think the main goal for the pictorial was to show how to get to the hard bolts, and the best way to remove them (routing of socket extensions, etc)....
