Hey guys,
i'm new to the forum but im excited to find so many people as into their cougars as i am. I have a black '01 MTX cougar that was actually just recently in a wreck while one of my friends was driving it. It needs a complete overhaul on the body and i'm looking for all kinds of suggestions. Currently i have 17" Enkei CDR9 rims, toyo proxes, henshin x1 fenders but im looking at the millenium kit with a ton of other mods. I cant WAIT to get it back. One main thing is i am looking to lower it and am open to any suggestions on what type of springs to use-i have heard mixed comments on intrax and B&G but i also found vogtland and was wondering if anyone had any experience with those. THANKS!!

First off..Welcome to NECO. You'll find a lot of useful info her eon your trek to customizing your cougar. You might want to ake a look at the Suspension Section and maybe use the search feature there for getting info on springs...I've never heard of Vogtland springs before?? You wouldn't happen to have a link to them online would you??

Once again..Welcome and have fun.

It was my ex-boyfriend-NOTICE EX (he wrecked my car) ..haha. I am going to the body shop this week to get pics of my car now, during and after the restorations. I cannot wait. I need her out by summer-gotta show all the boys up..haha jk. Ill be sure to post them as soon as i get them-its a sad sight to see but it will only get better. This is the 2nd cougar i have owned. The first was a 99 I4 MTX, but sadly i was pushed into a guardrail while i was racing at 115mph by some honda-he didnt even stop to see if i made it-That car saved my life. So i had to get another one.

lets see some pictures of it. maybe we can offer some suggestions?

btw Replace ALL oem bumpers with a body kit front and rear. you actually save money that way (unless you've already thought about that hehe)

Once you get the millenium kit you'll have to get bigger CDR9's :) I allmost bought the 17's myself, but ended up with 18's.

Welcome to the boards though, and post up those pics, wrecked or not :)

I really dont want to put 18's on my car-is it just going to look awkward with the 17's or what?

that kit is rather large.... best bet is to go with 18's..19's or hell.. even do 20's

I'll have to decide once i see the kit on my car i guess...i just cant wait to see my car on the road again-kit or no kit...

It's just because of the flares :)

With 17's and those flares, your 17's are EASILY going to look alot smaller.

But yeah, I know the feeling of just wanting to get the car on the road. Hopefully everything works out smoothly for ya.
