View Full Version : And Now, A Blatent Bribe
We closed on our new place yesterday, and with moving just a few things from the townhouse, we realize we’re in trouble.
Leah’s leg has not healed enough for her to get around for more than about an hour without having to rest (those of you who don’t know, we had an unfortunate crossing of gravity and about 15 sheets of 5/8” x 12’ drywall on her right shin while insulating the new garage). And the best part: We have to be out of the townhouse by midnight Saturday.
Therefore, a blatant bribe is in order. To anyone who can/wants to help tomorrow, Friday the 1st, as much food and beverage as you care to eat/drink will be available to you in exchange for some moving help. (Beer, wine, etc also for those of age, but that will have to wait ‘till after the moving. Please let me know your taste in those types of beverages)
I will have a rental truck tomorrow starting at 9am, as well as a pickup and two hatchbacks for moving. For directions & cell phone number (for those who don't know it already), please PM me. I will try my best to respond, but we'll be hard at work prepping the new place. Best to try my cell, or PM a member who knows it.
Thanks in advance to anyone who can make it.

I can't help you tomorrow :(
But, if you need me, I'll be there on Saturday. I have excellent moving skills. References available by request. (I hate to move stuff just so you know, but I would be happy to help you out.) As my dad always says "Strong like bull"
Let me know via email -chris.meinholz@idl.com- (best form of contact sometimes.)

I am assuming that Dan does not have is computer(s) setup yet, does anyone know his #? Can you call him and ask him if he still needs help?
Then send me an email or something that would be great.
Thanks!

Chris, I'll PM his cell # to you.
We kicked some major moving ass yesterday - he had about 8 guys show up to help, and we really cleaned out. Dan and Leah may still need help, because they are probably dead tired (we didn't leave the restaurant until after 11 last night, and his parents were going back to work on their house some more), and there are still some things and creatures left. Everything that's left is small and will fit in cars. Be sure to call to see whether they need the help before driving out there.

Well, then I guess all that's left is to say:
Dan and Leah, congratulations on the new house!

Yes congrats on the new house!
Thanks, everyone- I'm back up (albeit at work). Leah and I are super worn-out, Leah's going back into the doctor tomorrow 'cause her leg's hurting her worse now (maybe it's just healing, or maybe she worked too hard during the move).
RJ: We can't thank you enough. Everyone else- We appreciate your offers for help, I'm glad that we could have gotten a posse for Saturday if we'd needed it. Leah and I were at the old place until the 11th hour on Saturday (actually, we were out by 10:30pm, a full 1.5 hours to spare!)
I will post pics of the new place when I get my computer set up at home. Comcast is supposed to be out tomorrow for the hook-up, HD DVR, digital cable, internet, etc... I've also got pictures of RJ and I lugging "Mammoth", my new DLP HDTV. RJ can tell you more... ;) I sense an impending movie meet at my place...

That TV is huge - 62 inches or so - but it weighs less than 100 lbs. We had no trouble carrying it to the basement!
I'd have to lose half of my furniture to fit it in my place... :)

The picture of the lust in RJ's eyes is priceless... I just had to post. It's like he's gazing into his NECO wife's eyes... Eww. Wait. That's not right...

Costco had this thing with the stand for an amazing deal... I had to take it. Progressive scan DVD player with HD Upconvert is on its way...

Nice lookin' piece of machinery there, Dan. In this case, I don't mind being replaced by a TV.

NIIIICE!, I see a barter in the near future. Let me know if you are ever interested in a few thousand channels for the beast. Besides materials and hardware, there would be no monthly cost for you sir. ;)
No one but sherrie has seen the setup. Its pretty sweet, to bad tv doesn't interest me. I just do it for the free noggin. The virtual babysitter/educator.
edit:im drunk
