When I started my car, after filling it up at the gas station, it threw a CEL. It was dtc 9201: Fuel sender circuit failure

What does this mean? And what can cause it? Where should I look to fix it? Is it dangerous to drive with this?

Thanks,
Nick

I googled it and came up with nothing, my best bet would be to go to the dealership?

Hold on did a yellow engine light come on OR are you running through the computer to check for DTC codes? DTC codes really mean nothing.

The yellow light is on so I went through the engine diagnostic mode and found the dtc code.
What should I look for in diagnostic mode to find the source of the CEL? What will the code look like, I though dtc'd were the codes?

Thanks,
Nick

you cant find the source of the CEL in diagnositcs mode.
everyone gets dtc 9201 from time to time.
you have to plug a scanner into the OBD2 port to find the code.

They are P1518 and P0460.

First should be IMRC malfunction: stuck open!

Second: fuel level sensor circuit malfunction?

Is this on your new 3L, done already?

Yea, it's my 3.0L.

I figured it out though, the IMRC cable wasn't hooked to the spring on the LIM- DUH! So the secondaries were stuck closed, the car still pulled like a mother though! I can't wait to see it's full potential, with working secondaries. lol
