In my 99 Ford Cougar there is an Penholder in the center console to the right for the E-brake handle.
I have seen that there are som pictures of models with a cupholder instead. (maby the mercury cougar)
Do anyone know where i can get one. PS my center console are gray, therefore the black one in the picture wont work.

I would be glad if enyone could help me.

Penholder?? Got a pic of it, just wanted to see it. Well u can use anyone b/c all the cup holders im pretty sure are black (the piece that holds the cup) and the cover (long thing) is just a cover, which covers the two screws. You could just paint it....

Weird and crap !!!! In the UK we only have the cup holder between the rear seats !
I mean, what would you rather have and would use more often?? Pen or can of pop? Another great bit of Ford Marketing !!

Thank you for the offer. Mr Stangkiller. I've put my local ford dealer on the task. He was a bit puzzled, cause there
are few new cougars in norway. The few we have are sold as Ford. Many of the guys in Ford have never heard of a cougar.
So it would be funny to see what he can do. :-)
I had started the work making my own cupholder in the place of the penholder, cause i
thought that would be a much better idea, and then i came over some pictures here that showed a mercury with it already installed.
Guess my suprise. The penholder must have been some idea that they wont have overseas accident with warm coffee, afraid of getting sued.

The cup holder is not-so-affectionately called a "cup spiller" here - mainly because of the poor design. It won't stay up and slides back in the slot - the cup holder, that is.

the early 99's had the cup spiller. they redisigned it for the 00-02's, works much better

The Australian Cougar's have that penholder waste of space as well. I'm half tempted to put my Ford pen in there, but I'll probably never use it. Seems to me that all the right hand drive Cougar's came with it.

So there's no cupholder for us? Damn.

Tried it the other day driving around trying to drink from the rear seat cupholder... Wasn't exactly convenient especially when changing gears in traffic.

With all the trouble you'd have to go thru to get the cup-holder there, I'd say its not worth it man. Seriously, I've had to come up with a "system" when I drive, where when I am taking a right hand turn at speed I keep my hand on the shift knob, and use my arm to brace my soda, otherwise it'll literally flip out and throw its contents onto my lap.

Worse....design...ever....
