preventative maint?

I am a transmission virgin so I need a little help. I have a 99 MTX cougar with 96k on all motor and tranny parts. My motor blew so Im swapping a 99 SVT engine in. I would like to do a little preventative maint. for my tranny while I have easy access to it. I was going to buy a new SVT disc and pressure plate, but what really gets worn out on our tranny's? I would like my car to be trouble free for at least another year, so what should I replace to keep my tranny running smooth and strong? Thanks!

PS- Do I really need a SVT disc and pressure plate if everything is running good?

well depending on how much money you wanna spend, id say the weakest part of the mtx75 is the differential, a quaife or torsen lsd would deffinetly help alot.
