i have an auto meter electrical oil pressure gauge, and i have a few questions before i try to install it. the sender's threads are too small for the bung on the motor. what kind of adaptor can i use? i've looked at the autometer site and i dont know which one to get. any help is appreciated. thanks.

you may be able to get an adapter at a hardware store.

I built my own adapter with brass tubing and plumbers tape to insure no leaks. Also make sure you use the hole that is by the DPFE sensor thats the only place i could fit my sensor.

if you bought an autometer gauge it should have came with a 1/4" adaptor. If you didn't get one just go to a hardware store and ask for a 1/4" npt male to 1/8" npt female adaptor. brass is fine.

Make sure you use LIQUID/PASTE style teflon to seal it up. Those bungs in the head that flow the HLA's (The allen screws block them im assuming thats what you are using) See in excess of 100psi. The thermal expansion differential is (i think anyways) too great between the diffrent metals you are using (brass, alum) I tried using standard ole teflon PTFE tape and it leaked every time. Ive done plenty of plumbing with teflon tape so a assure you it had nothing to do with the method.... the brand/quality maybe. None the less... when i used the liquid/paste style teflon it sealed the first time and stayed sealed for the last 3 years.... The product i speak of is the same material they recomend for doing natural gas lines and the like. Any plumbing store will have it. You definatly want to get the all teflon type... stay clear of the old school putty that will dry and crack.
