Hey Experts, Newbie Here for the NE Cougars.
Looking for a Stock Spoiler for our "2001 Silver Cougar". Is there a difference between the Stock Spoilers for the '99-'00 & the '01-'02 Standard Model Years?? If there is a difference, what is it??
Does anybody have one For Sale?? Guess we may post on Want to Buy after we find out what we need for sure. Thank You Very Much!!

they both have the same mounting holes but they just look different.. the 99/00 one is more of a very small shopping cart handle look and the 01/02 stockie is more of a small flat style.

Take a look at www.cougardb.com (http://www.cougardb.com) if you haven't yet. You can filter by year, color and spoiler type, so you can see almost every type of spoiler that's been produced for our cars and get a good idea of what one might look like on yours.

BTW, mad props for posting a sensible question in the correct section!!

Also, nice car list! If you ever feel like donating something, I'd be glad to make room in my garage for the '71 Torino with the 429CJ in it.

Thanks Crispy!!
I think what had me confused is that most people on ebay are advertising the Spoilers to be for "all" years (99-02). I now can tell the difference "on" the Cougars but still sorta can't when they are pictured "off" of the cars.
BTW I am a female too. "You Go Girl" -- I love your Car!! Reminds me of when I 1st did shows with my '70 Convertible & I won CCOA Nationals 1st Place for 70 Cougar Conv. in St. Louis/ St. Charles, MO in 1990 & since Retired it to lay back & focus on Paying off the House/Garages.
This 2001 Silver Cougar MTX , we just got, is "my" 1st Car Purchase in over 10 Years & since I married a "Chevy Guy".-- I knew I had to have 1 ever since the style came out in '99. I am totally impressed with it, but gotta have a Spoiler on it- it's in my blood, & since I passed on the '02 XR .
I saw where a guy in your WI NECO had 1 for a 2001. I think I will drop him a line & see if he still has it. Would you have any idea if he does?? I know he had some other stuff that it looks like he did get rid of. Thanks alot for you help!!

Thanks Wade for hooking me up with that cougardb site. I went there but still couldn't find "stock" spoilers. Maybe I was looking at the wrong place. I do see the diff. now "on" the cars but having trouble still "off" the cars. See my reply above to Crispy.
You have a Nice Cat too. My parents try to come to your town every fall to see the "leaves". And I was there with my Grandfather at age 5 for the "Laurel Festival". It's a Small World-- Isn't it??
We haven't made a Will yet if "we" both go together so I will keep you in mind for the 429CJ Torino Cobra. (We were gonna give everything to the Animal Shelter). The Cobra's Grabber Blue w/ 80K orig miles, all Orig., Auto., Factory Exhaust still on it, Purrs like a kitten, not a thing ever done to it. I Bought it off the original owner back in 1990 from VA after finding out about it from a Chevy guy @ Spring Carlisle. But I thought you woulda' wanted the BOSS 302 instead though. All those Cars are our Retirement Plan/ Investments. Which I guess was a good idea after all since it seems Soc. Sec. is not gonna be there when we retire. And all are kept inside-- we have garages galore & built a Huge Metal Building. People think we're nuts. I wasn't able to have kids- so I have Cars, Cats & a Dog instead. Boo Hoo!!

Oops, I thought there was a listing for 'stock' spoilers, but I guess not. Well, if you look at my car, that's a stock 01/02 spoiler. The ones on ebay say all years because they basically do fit all years...i.e. the decklids are all the same.

So you're a 'leafpeeper' eh? Haha...one of the millions! I can't believe you've been to Wellsboro...

The Boss would be nice, and I love Mustangs, but my parents own a '73 Torino with the Cobra package. It has 19,000 original miles and is as original as the day they took delivery. The inside still smells new, the window sticker is still in the window, and the only thing ever replaced were the tires, only because the originals developed flat spots from sitting too long (they are still up overhead in the garage though).

I don't have any digital photos of the car, but I'm going to get some this summer if I can actually get my father to pull it out of the garage.
