ARP is being gay and have not started making the head studs i ordered 2 months ago.....they keep putting them off cuz "im not on the priority list."
so basically, how much can the stock studs take.....anyone test their limits? anyway i can treat them to make them stronger......?
i am really thinking about getting my money back from ARP cuz i want my car broken in before i go to cougarfest, and im tired of waiting on nothing...
thanks:)

thanks:)I would say that if your desired FWHP/FWTQ is within 350/350, you should be fine on the stock bolts ... more than a few people are running comprable numbers on stock bolts without a problem. Where did you order the ARP bolts from? Reason I ask is because I'm opting for them considering my goals are far beyond those above. I however don't have a dealine and don't mind waiting if I have to.

He got them from me. I'm a buddy of his, I own a parts company, 1321 Motorsports. I've pestered ARP for a while now to no avail. In fact they even have a duratec part number for the main studs, but after contacting them, not one set has been made yet, and there is no eta on when they will make them...nor the headstuds.
I figure that the only way to obtain these (aside from waiting for ARP to get around to it) is to find someone that has these in stock...and I don't know why/if anyone would have them in stock.
Trust me, I feel your pain with the goals you speak of. At this point, I'm considering having his stock studs cryo'd and magnafluxed.

Leo Capaldi ran production parts on both main and head bolts. We NEVER failed one.... never even close or kinda or posibly or anything even minorly sugesting that it would be worth it to go with ARP. That motor made more Hp/Tq then any N/a duratec ive ever heard of including 3.0L.... The compression ratio was stageringly high.... and it rev'd plenty past 7000.... so come on now... seriously. Do you REALLY think your motor needs them. Especially for the price and hassle. Put the $300 you plan on spending on fasteners into an accusump and I gurantee the money will be much much much better spent.
Think about it... even on the board how many times have you heard of a blown head gasket? They just dont fail.... Ford got it right the first time. As for the mains they are built to withstand more power then the displacement is able to produce no matter what you do... short of toulene and 80psi boost perhaps :-)
Just use the production fasteners and let somthing else break.

Stock fasteners and gaskets have held roughly 400 wheel HP & TQ to date.
That was on a 2.5L so the cylinder pressure was greater then a comparable 3L making the same power. (i.e. greater efficiency yield from lower displacement)
Hey exigent......8100
